injecting

Post by chicago »

My doctor has me combining menopur, gonal-f and ganierlex in one injection which is nice, but I have been giving them to myself way above my belly button (mostly on the left side). I have 12 follicles and am day 6 of the stims with the leader measuring at 17. Ironically 9 of the 12 follies are on the left side. Two questions: Does anyone know if there is any correlation with side of injection and which ovary the follies grow on? Also, I just read that I was supposed to be injecting below the belly button -- one inch from the belly button or in the thigh. Could I have screwed this up?

chicago- those are good questions. i would definitely ask your RE or nurse. i am not on the same meds as you but i think mine are doing the same thing as yours are, as i am currently stimming as well. i am on lupron, follistim and repronex. lupron and follistim, i give to myself in my stomach. i alternate sides everynight and i aim for an inch to the left or right of my belly button. repronex, my mom gives me in the booty, but she also alternates sides every night. my follies are evenly distributed in both ovaries, there are 33 ! so i wonder if there is any correlation between alternating sides and evenly distributed follicles??? i'm sure you didn't screw it up b/c they would have been able to tell with all the testing and bw they do.
