what kind of car/van/etc for twins+

Post by acornmom »

I posted earlier but realized that this board will probably be able to help me more. I just wondered what type of vehicle most of you have that have multiples plus other children. We are looking between the Toyota Sienna and the honda Odyssey. If you could tell me what you have and what made you choose it that would be great. Thanks for all of you help.
We have a 10yr old and are expecting twins in Jan/Feb (due date Feb 8)

I don't have twins or a mini van, but I was going to post and tell you that every mom I know that has a mini van has either an odyssey or a sienna, the two you are choosing between! One of my friends that has twins has a honda odyssey which is also what my husband drives at his job, and both of them love it. I myself am not a minivan person, but I am a honda person to the core and won't ever drive any other kind of vehicle...so that would be my choice.

We don't have twins but we decided that, given our situation - an au pair, one child, and a singleton pregnancy - my wife would want a minivan if/when the second child arrives. We decided on the Odyssey because there's a convenient Honda dealership with which I've had good experiences with my S2000.

While the Odyssey is unlike the S2000, it also seems a very good vehicle. Convex interior mirror to see all the kids from the driver's seat, telescoping steering wheel to adjust for pregnancy, back seat DVD player to give the kids in flight movies ... pretty cool. I was kind of wishing I could drive it until we had a nice top down S2000 day.
