I am currently researching cord banking companies to store the baby's stem cells. The most widely advertized ones seem to be CBR and Viacord, although they price range is significantly higher than others. MY OB recommended Stembanc as the rpice is significantly lower. They hardly give any info on the internet or over the phone about their laboratories and haven't been around for that long, which is a bit worriesome. I also called california bryonbanking which seems to be more affordable than viacord and CBR and has been around for 30 years.
I would appreicate any comments you might have on this subject.
Thanks,
Nancy
My OB used Cord Blood Registry (CBR) for her own kids and I went with them as well, after doing my own research. I had already made up my mind, but knowing that my own OB used them sealed the deal They are the largest cord blood bank and have the most experience. They market the fact that they are #1 recommended by OBs. They have a video online that you can watch to see how they store the cord blood. I was just very impressed all around with them.
I was able to get a pretty big discount of about $500 off the price, when they were only advertising $150 off. If you are interested, let me know and I can give you the name of representative I dealt with. He's been great!
