exercise during IVF

Post by karenthescorpio »

Hi ladies. I'm wondering if any of you exercised during your IVF cycle? I usually do high impact stuff i.e running, aerobics, etc. Should I switch to just walking and maybe yoga once I start my stims? What did you ladies do for exercise? I can't imagine just going cold turkey. But if I must, I will.

Hi, I was given the okay to exercise (running and weights) during my IVF cycles, but was told to take it easy during the 2ww.

Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing what your doctor told you. My nurse hasn't mentioned anything about exercise at all. But common sense was telling me that after the egg retrieval, I'd need to take it easy!

Mine told me to go easy during stims like walking. But I think everyone's RE has a different opinion.

Mine told me to go easy during stims but has asked me to stop until the first u/s. They are a little more cautious and also agree that excercise is important, but to really take it easy for now.

my RE told me to to do only light sport like walking in the park during stimming at least until ER. Reason is that the ovaries get bigger and bigger and there is a chance that they might topple over and then cut off the line and die :(
They get so heavy that they cannot adjust back to the original position. RE also said no swimming (same effect)

So I did nothing and am waiting for my RE to give me the go ahead on sports :-)
