First Post!

Post by hope4two »

Hello everyone--

This is my first time posting! I have been following the message board for a while now and it is very inspiring.

My DH and I have one 17 month old son through IVF after several failed IUIs. We are now hoping for one more. I got my BFP on September 14th, with a FET, and will be going in on Monday for the first U/S. I am hoping it goes well. With my son, they could not find a fetal pole and his heart beat was slow. The doc said she was not sure about "the viability of this pregnancy." Well, he is now a healthy 17 month old. That was a nerve racking month that I hope not to repeat. We also transferred two blasts and I really only want a singleton...the stories of 2 blasts=3 babies is kind of worrying me!

I am looking forward to hearing everyone's stories. I think there is so much to be learned from a group of girls doing the same thing!

Hi there, how was your ultrasound? Just wanted to share my history... Transferred 2 blasts with 1st fresh cycle, only one took but split twice creating identical triplets. We lost one baby at 7 weeks and the other two at 19 weeks due to pre-term labor. We transferred 1 blast via FET back in April, but mis-carried at 5 1/2 weeks. We transferred our last two blasts back in June, and I am happily 17 weeks pregnant with one strong baby boy. I wish I could tell you that the risk of multiples is not something to worry about, but it is reality. I can tell you that every pregnancy is different and your body's reaction is different. With my current singleton pregnancy, my beta HCG numbers were more than double that of my triplet pregnancy, which makes no sense at all to me, but I keep telling myself that this is just a really strong baby and pregnancy this time. I wish you the very best and please keep us updated.

The ultrasound went great! It is one baby that measures just right and had a strong heartbeat. I am very relieved!

Your history sounds really hard! On the May board there are 3 or 4 women with triplets and it never dawned on me that it would never turn out perfect. That is one reason these message boards are so important. I am so sorry you had to deal with that. I am excited about your current pregnancy, it sounds like everything is going well.

Good luck and keep me posted!
