So I'm new here. I would like to know if anyone is going to Dr.Shen @ Kaiser in Fremont,Ca?? If not please list who you are seeing. I think this could be informative.

I go to fertility physician of Northen CA, you can search them on web site. They have total 6 RE over there. I just have my first cycle with them but don't think the result is good. You can also try Nova. I am thinking switching if the outcome is -ve, but still debating about it.
Does your insurance cover for the treatment?

Thanks for responding-- Insurance does not cover and I researched Dr.Shen and she has great results. I total trust her!

I go a little farther north of you to California IVF in Davis. They are a smaller clinic but the staff has been great so far. I also have some experience with North Valley Fertility Medical Center in Roseville, Ca. They are a larger clinic and are quite a bit more expensive than the one I choose. I like small offices where I feel i get more personalized care! Plus after one failed fresh cycle I am now almost 7 weeks pregnant from a FET, with 6 more snowbabies on ice!

Thx for letting me know, may I know how many doctors they have?, and is the patient can pick which Dr. to see? and he/she will be the one doing all monitoring and ER and ET? can you share more info with me regarding them?
The reason I am asking is I have a great Dr. @ my current clinic, but during all the visits and monitoring, I need to see all rest of 6 Dr. only seen my own twice. Even the ER and ET were done by different Dr. They claimed each Dr. will review all cases together every day, but if you do the math, they totally have 600 cycles in a year, which means also 50 cycles per month, so how can they provide special attention to one of the patient? All the staff and Drs are great, ER and ET did not give me any spoting or discomfort at all, Drs over there are very high skills, but still not sure why the fertility result is really low. So I may try something different the 2nd time.

I've been to Dr. Zouves and Zouves Fertility Center in Foster City. He runs his practice and does EVERYTHING which I really appreciated. From every u/s to retrieval and transfer. Very hands on, explains everything and a joy to work with. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, initially went through one cycle and recieved a low positive but it didn't stick. Our second cycle he changed the protocol, we ended up with even better results and I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant. I highly recommend him. Oh, and all of the nurses are soooooooo nice.

Thanks for your info. I sure will try it out. It's just a bit too far from my work place and I assume it is very inconvient for me to take bloodwork/US during the stim week. I remember I have to be in and out of clinic every other day.

Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
10bear---- Actually it's only 1 RE there and a couple of nurses you deal with and for the most part. I trust them. However she put us all on the same protocol in which I was canceled due to not responding to the meds. Will try again with same RE. She must realize were all unique for crying out loud!!!

Wow, great that I finally found a forum with the IVF info we NEED.
I literally spent my entire Sunday with Google and researching all the places around the Bay Area. FPNC, NovaIVF, RCS San Ramon, Stanford, AltaBates, UCSF, Laurel, etc.
Put together this wonderful spreadsheet of all the info I could find on all of the above listed places (and more), and now I find there's an IVF specialist within walking distance of our house!
Zouves Fertility Center in Foster City sounds great, both from the recommendation here, to their listed success rates, and their prices don't seem out of line.
And also Dr. Shen at Kaiser in Fremont sounds great too.
My wife and I have been trying for about 2 years now with no luck at all. We've been seeing an IUI specialist down in Fremont, but after a year we haven't even done 1 IUI cycle and we've spent quite a bit of money.
The ultrasound scans showed some possible cysts, so we went in for laproscopic surgery and they wound up going all the way in and removing the cysts.
At that time they found the tubes to be blocked, so we did 3 months of hormone down-regulation (lupron?), and we're just coming off that, but getting very impatient.
She'll be 39 in less than 6 months, so we really need to get moving on IVF ASAP.
It's great to know we've got some of the best in the world within a short driving distance of home.

We got all of our medical records over to them and just did a 30 min phone conference with Dr. Z himself.
He was extremely helpful, suggested ways we can improve our chances for natural conception, and we'll likely be moving forward with IVF after the next cycle or so.
As my wife will be 39 in early May 2010, she's very much in favor of trying IVF absolutely immediately.
Personally I wouldn't mind giving the natural method another month or two, a lot changes have happened over the past year.
Specifically her surgery to remove a fibroid, then she was put on Lupron and had 3 shots (one a month) which seems to have cleared up any tubal blockage/constriction that was present when she had the fibroid removed (just had a dye test and the results were very positive). Plus we're both losing some weight, getting into better shape, taking even more vitamins, and working on reducing stress.
Tomorrow morning we're off to Cabo San Lucas for a week where we're going to make like rabbits and then relax in the sun!!! Our first real vacation since we've even been together (except for a short trip to Niagara falls while visiting family). Heck, this will be my first real vacation in over 10 years.
Time to de-stress!!!
