Hi everyone

I never dreamed I would be asking this but can I join you ladies over here from the 2ww board????

I am still in a state of shock after getting a +ve result on a hpgt on Friday, which was day 14 post et. Have spent most of the time since in a bit of a daze (and doing more sneaky Clear Blues as I can't quite believe it) – it all hasn't quite sunk in yet!

I have my first scan in 3 weeks time on 8th November, when my clinic said I'll be 7 wks pg. I'm so worried about what's going on in there until then tho!!

Can anyone explain to me how they work out how pg you are? My hosp said something about 2 weeks from your et but I didn't take it in properly. Is this 2 weeks added on so if my et was 2 weeks ago I'm now 4 weeks pg??

I'm thrilled to be here guys and look forward to getting to know you all a bit better over the coming weeks!

LOL Jules xxx
hi jules congratulations on the exciting news, usually the way they work out how far you are is they go from the first day of your last period so even if it has only been 2 weeks since et you are still classed as 4 wks preg.
good luck
Hi Jules - FANTASTIC NEWS We are soooooo pleased for you and know exactly how you are feeling. Every day is filled with excitement and trepidation - can it really be true ?? Yes It can, as I'm sure all the ladies who are imminently about to produce 'real babies' will tell you ! Yes your weeks pregnant is taken from the first day of your last period, so before et you are officially 2wks pregnant!! - seems weird but of course we tend to forget, most people (in the other world) are lucky if they remember when their last period was never mind when they think they may of conceived - with us its a bit different - we know practically the exact hour we 'conceived' never mind the day, so yes you are officially 4wks pregnant. Your scan will be amazing - I heard a heart beat at 6wks which was amazing, not much to see other than a blob, but it certainly brought a tear to my eye. And of course they see how many there are. Exciting stuff. Enjoy EVERY moment in between now and then knowing you really are pregnant. Love to all. Wendy xxxx

Hi Tanya and Wendy

Thanks very much for your encouraging replies- it makes so much difference to know I'm not alone in my feelings and the amazement of it all!

I still have a query though about the 2 weeks added onto et to calculate your pregnancy. This is because the first day of my last period was actually 3 weeks and 4 days before my et. (My period started on 9th September and my et was on 4 Oct). I think this is because I was down-regging for a bit longer this time plus my ec/et were postponed by a couple of days as my follies weren't quite big enough at the time.

So my question is does that mean I still just add 2 weeks onto my et or does it actually go from the first day of my last period which in my case is a different thing???

So how pg are you guys then? I hope your both doing well and thank you so much for your good wishes!

LOL Jules xxx

Hello Jules,

How are you doing - I haven't seen any updates on Fiona & Elaine -
This board is very slow moving - if you no what I mean. Maybe we should stick on the general - Anyway - how are you feeling? I don't really feel pregnant - only the fact that my stomach is huge due to the amount of eggs collected (at least thats what I think). Have a few pains lower abdomen - but other than that NOTHING... My scan isn't until the 14th November which seems eons away...

Stay in touch

Lots of love
Charmaine
x
