How long did you wear estrogen patches?

I was wondering if everyone can chime in on this one...

I removed my last estrogen patch yesterday, I think it was 24dp3dt. Is this normal? What role do the estrogen patches play during early pregnancy?

They did not keep me on mine for very long. I think I went off them at my first OB appointment (10 weeks?).
35yrs old, endo.
male factor: low, low count
IVF: #1 BFP!!!!
BETA: 03July: 587!!!
