So what are you guys driving ?

I currently have a volvo sedan and need to upgrade to something bigger. I really, really, hate mini-vans and refuse to get one. I've never been a car snob until i got my volvo a few years ago. I love it and so against getting anything but a volvo.

My husband and i are looking into the volvo station wagon or their biggest SVU.

Anythought out there? What are you moms & dads driving out there with TWINS?

First let me say congrats on the twins! Our little ones were born at 31 weeks 2 days and are doing great. (should be home soon)

Second, We have a 10 year old dtr as well as the girls so we needed an upgrade. I had a Toyota highlander but with three kids it was going to be crowded. I too refused to have a mini van until I drove the Toyota Sienna. I rides and drives just like my highlander. It is great!!! I never imagined I would EVER drive a van but I love it!

Now, if you only have twins and dont plan on anyone else riding with you then your options are much greater...enjoy what ever vehicle you like since twins dont take up That much room. just remember all of the equipment you may need to haul too. (stroller, bags, pack n play?)

We have an au pair, and when my wife got pregnant with our second child, she figured her VW Jetta wouldn't have enough space and replaced it with a Honda Odyssey minivan. We really like it. It is completely designed around families with children, with features like a DVD for the kids in the back seat and mommy (in the drivers seat) being able to activate and deactivate all the window and door controls available to the kids (and husband). Sliding doors on both sides make it so easy to get kids in and out! It was also perfect when we had my brother's family over for thanksgiving, too.

I'd recommend test driving an Odyssey or Sienna before dismissing minivans completely.

Just had my twins in December. I'm currently driving a Chevy Tahoe. And although there is plenty of room for the twins and all their stuff, it's just not practical! The seats are to high when lifing up the carriers to snap them in. Tight parking spaces are a nighmare when having to swing the doors open to get the carriers out (SUV's take up so much space). We can't fit anyone else in the vehicle with the two seats in the back. I looked into 3rd row seating SUVs but then the trunk space is taken away with no room for the double stroller. I too was one to say that I'd never drive a minivan. I tried and tried to find another vehicle that would work. But once I gave minivans a look and saw how functional they are and how they have just about everything you'd need when hauling a family around, I've come around and almost fallen in love with the Honda Odyssey! Not to mention by the time I tack on everything I'd need in a SUV that a minivan has, I'm in a luxury vehicle with a luxury price that I just can't afford (on a twin mom's budget). Minivans looks better and better everyday, lol. We plan on purchasing one in the next couple of months.

I truly believe that every minivan driver out there never imagined they'd be driving one. So you have to think that there HAS to be something truly special about them, LOL! I know not the answers you wanted to hear but it's hard to find anything that compares to minivans. If you do find something, please let me know!!
