Pregnancy Sacs?

Post by emma0908 »

Hi everyone,

I've just got back from the hospital and have had an internal scan.
I've had quite a few over the last 2 weeks because of my OHSS!

Well today they have told me I have 2 x prg sacs but can't see any heartbeats. They wouldn't confirm or deny that there would be heart beats in both of them or even one!!

Has this happened to anyone else, I'm a little worried now, I do have another scan booked for Friday, but I can't wait that long.

Emma
Hi Emma

How many weeks are you?

I'm having a scan next friday when I'll be 7 weeks and the nurse did warn me that at that early stage, they made not be able to detect the fetal heartbeat yet.

I don't know if this helps you.

Sarah x

Thanks Mags,

Which scan did you realise you were having twins, did you see their heart beats then? Are yours identical or not? Do they share the same sac?
Sorry for the questions but a bit naive!!!

Love Emma x

Hi Emma

Try not to worry (easier said than done I know!)!

Luckily, they were able to pick up heartbeats at my 6 week scan (it worked out 6 weeks and one day). I think at this stage each day makes a difference and they did warn me that they might not be able to pick any up for a couple of weeks.

See what happens on Friday - hopefully by then they'll be able to pick something up. If not, don't panic it could still be too early to see anything, especially with your OHSS! Have a chat with the hospital and see what they say - my experience is that they are very honest about how things are looking, they don't tend to say things to make you feel more positive at this stage. If anything, my hospital were quite downbeat about everything just in case things didn't work out.

Good luck and try and chill 'til Friday!

LOL Helen xx
