Hi! I have been going to Dr. Kan at Newport Fertility. I have had one failed IUI and I just had another on Friday Feb 5th. I go in for a pregnancy test on the 19th. I like him alot and pray that this one works.
Hi Karin1
so u r in yr 2ww, good luck for 19th....did u use any madications or natural?
This is our 2nd clinic, we r doing a fresh start with Dr. Wong. He wants to start with no medication at all.
Before that we were going to HRC (Laguna Hills). we did IVF, FET, one IUI.. all BFN. so we changed the Dr.
When I started going to Dr. Kan, we had only been ttc for about 5 months. I was 37 and soon to be 38 and we want more than one child. I thought that it was best to see a dr. He said that he didn't see any reason why we couldn't, just that timing was an issue because my husband travels for work alot. We did a round of clomid and tried on our own naturally. Then I developed a cyst (likely caused by clomid). Took birth control to get rid of it. Then I did cycle of IVF drugs and developed a polyp on my uterus and only produced one follicle. We did an IUI because we didn't want to waste it. Then I went on bc again and had surgery to remove the polyp. Then, bc again after the surgery. Then I did another cycle of IVF drugs and only produced 3 follicles that weren't mature enough. He said that I would ovulate on my own and if I wanted we would try the IUI. Hopefully it will work and I won't have to go through this again. If it doesn't work then we will try another round. He said that my body has been through alot in such a short period of time.
Is there a reason why you switched doctors? This is my first time with this sort of thing and it makes you wonder if the protocol is the right for you.
I hope that you have better luck with your new doctor!
Hi Eastindian! I was thinking about you and wanted to share something with you. I tried acupuncture for the first time today. I went to Dr. Daniel Lee in Irvine. He specializes in infertility. He has been practicing for 23 years and there are hundreds of thank you cards and pictures of babies in his waiting room. I have to admit that I am more optimistic after my visit with him than I have been in a while. He explains everything and answers all of your questions. He wants to know alot of details about your past experiences, FSH levels, your husbands semen analysis and gives you basic rules to live by. I am going for another treatment on Friday. I will try to keep you updated on how things go.
I hope that things are going well for you. Best of luck!

Hi Eastindian! It's nice to hear from you. My last try was a natural cycle IUI and was a BFN. I've had alot of acupuncture sessions. At least once or twice a week depending on where I am in my cycle. On my last IUI, I had 2 mature follicles and a couple small ones...without any drugs. I had 4 or 5 acupuncture sessions before the IUI. I am totally convinced that acupuncture has jump-started my ovaries. The day I went in for the IUI, my RE triggered me when my follicle was only 19mm...way too early. It was a Saturday and I think he didn't want to work on Sunday. I think that's why it didn't work. This time I am doing a natural cycle IUI with no trigger...hopefully. We are going out of town next week and hope to get back in time to do it. If not, we'll be trying really hard the old fashioned way. My acupuncturist seems to think that all natural is the best way to get a positive results unless there are other fertility factors. If this doesn't work, then we will be going back next cycle to stim and IVF. I will also continue acupuncture.
I hope that you get a POSITIVE result soon! I will be praying for you!
