Paranoid Update!!!

Post by Helen G »

Hi all

Had my "second" booking in appointment yesterday! We didn't fill out all the forms last time as I needed to decide where I'm going to have the babies first!

Anyway, explained to the very helpful midwife my recent paranoia and she said she would try and see if she could hear the heartbeats for me with a Doppler machine. She said she couldn't promise anything as I'm only 11.5 weeks pregnant but would try anyway. Needless to say, she couldn't hear them! Made me feel worse!!!! She also checked my uterus which she could just feel the top of - I thought it would be higher by now as I'm having twins. Again, she wasn't worried and said that the babies were obviously still deep inside me but would be "popping" out any day now.

Sorry to moan again - just want to get it off my chest!!

Felt a bit better today as we visited one of the hospital's maternity and labour ward - I was advised to do this by my midwife as I have a choice of hospitals. It was really weird walking around with a bunch of women who looked like their were about to give birth (one lady said she was due in 2 weeks!). Obvioulsy you normally do the hopsital visit nearer your due date??!! Anyway, dh and I both walked away thinking this means we're actually going to be having babies - it's not pretend any more!!!! Lovely feeling.

Anyway, sorry to whinge! Don't mean to!

Hope everyone else is feeling really happy and blooming! Haven't we had a great bank holiday weekend so far??

LOL Helen xx

PS - Kirsty, hope you're head's back to normal and you're doing OK!

[Edited by Helen G on 04-May-03 20:18]
