Very early signs

Post by Annie »

Hi everyone and congrats on all your pregnancies,
I dont know if Im jumping the gun posting on thisboard but I was hopimg to get advice on how to handle the two week wait after the first +ve blood test upto the first scan. I was so sure it hadnt worked that for two days I couldnt really feel any thing after the blood test(except panic that my job, teaching unruly teenagers ) might not be helping. Then I had a brownish discharge and period pains , panicked and began to be convinced it was all over again ( I posted a message on the other board to get advice about early miscarriage signs which calmed me down for a while) Now things seem to have settled down apart from the odd v faint brownish discharge and intermitant cramps. So Im tentatively thinking things could be possibly ok again. Did any of you have both cramps and spotting as early as 15 days post ET? I have heard about these symptoms being harmless seperately but not together! So basically Im going round the twist knicker checking ( my partner has hidden my stash of hpts)I thought it would get a little less torturous after a +ve test result but I seem to be going loopy with it. I used to read the other board alot last year ( and message occassionally) and its lovely to recognise some names from way back who have now made it ! Personally I feel completly in limbo again
love a very confused Annie

both times i bled. i had dark red blod and bright red blod cramps and brown stuff. i dont know how mant times i thought it was all over.the doc told me that the brown stuff was old blood. we are over 17 wks pregnant. we rented a doppler so i would have a peace of mind by hearing our baby.sometimes we cant find the heartbeat but we can always find its blod flow. so we know that everything is ok..
good luck i hope this helps
becky
cleaning out my old desk and found a cd that had a bunch of stuff on it and one of my old names and password was on it and it worked.. hopefuly i can find my first name that i used..

Hi Annie

Congratulations on your positive result!!

I'm afraid the waiting just gets harder and harder from now on in!!! Don't we all think that once we get a positive result we'll be able to relax and enjoy it - hah! No chance.

I found the hardest period the waits between the positive pregnancy result and the 12 week scan! I'm really lucky in that I didn't get any bleeding or spotting but I know many girls on the site did and have gone on to have healthy pregnancies. I don't think you can take anything like that as a good or bad sign, it's all so specific to what's happening in your body with your baby!

I really hope that the next few weeks go quickly for you and everything goes well. Try your best to relax and enjoy (yeh right) and put your feet up as much as you can!! Stay positive!

Keep us posted!

LOL Helen xx
18 wks & 5 days with twins!

Hi Annie,

Many congrats on your positive (must have missed that one as the posts kept disappearing!). I certainly found the 2 ww for the first scan worse than the 2ww wait post ET. Luckily I haven't had any bleeding, but it seems to be fairly common and nothing to worry about (easier said than done).

I know that it's hard to relax, but you may start getting some pregancy symptoms (sore boobs, constipation, morning sickness, etc) so assume that everything's still okay. However, don't worry if you haven't got any symptoms and if they don't happen every day! I was worried for ages as I only had sore boobs and by 8 weeks they didn't hurt as much, but everyone is different!

Try and keep yourself busy at work if that helps take your mind off things. The 2 weeks will go quicker than you think.

Good luck and sorry I couldn't be more help,

Alison xx

Contratulations - must have missed the good news.
2ww - another - what a mare - I was a nightmare and still am. Am 9 weeks today and still wondering if it has stopped growing. I was at work so took my mind off it and had sore boobs which wasn't sure if was pessaries or not and bit nauseous when tired.
The final few days I could hardly sleep and by the time of scan was so tightly wound up. Try and think positive whenever possible it all I can suggest - now getting in a tizz for my 12 week. Have midwife appointment today to get referral to nottingham and then nuchal as I am 37 in July. Keep fretting about that too - doesn't stop.
Take care and hang in there
Love
Tracey
xxx
