Hi Helen!

I'm so excited about your scan - I can't wait to find out what you're having (although my son was obviously shy at our 20ish week scan and we didn't find out he was a he till 4 weeks later, but that's the benefit of all the extra scans you get for twins). Try not to be nervous. I think I must be a bit strange (well, my children will verify that I am) 'cos I never worried that anything would be wrong, I was just so excited to see them again.

As for questions to ask, I think we were so blown away by the number of measurements that the sonographer took that we forgot all questions. You need to know what position they're in, although obviously that can change (but didn't with my two) - it may affect how you give birth. They'll give you an idea of how good their size is; we got given a graph at each scan to show how they were growing.

Don't forget if you ever want to pop over to meet real life ICSI twins/borrow any books, you're always welcome! Good luck for Friday.

Jules

Hi Helen,

Echo what Jules said about so many measurements, but I was a nervous wreck before the scans, and it is great because it is the longest you will have spent watching them. I didn't ask the sex, but then our hospital didn't have a great reputation for accuracy!! The nursery was then painted all different colours (lilac, lime, yellow and blue...like tropical opal fruits!!!) It is also the first time we started to spot their personalities, as Rebecca kept kicking Ross and he refused to stay still for any of the measurements, some things just never change!!

Enjoy the fact you can spend so long watching them and if you have any pains etc it is a good time to talk to a physio as you will start to get very big very quickly from now on....everyone thought I was about to drop from about 25 weeks as I was the size of a full term singleton....and they can give you advice on support belts etc so your back doesn't get too sore.

I am all excited too and can't wait to hear all about it. Good Luck and enjoy

Big Hug
Nicky
