Hello everyone...

Post by bcs19 »

I am trying to learn more about what we are all going through. I recently underwent my first in-vitro cycle. I had 13 eggs retrieved and produced 11 good embryos, or as the doctor said "beautiful embryos". So I was very excited about my first transfer of 2 9 cell fresh embryos. However, to my dismay it resulted in a miscarriage :( . So they told me it was probably due to abnormal choromones. Ok, so we went on to prepare for an FET transfer from the 7 embryos I had frozen. All of which were of 9, 8 and 7 cell count. From their estimations this was great! I did my estrogren and progesterone and was all ready to go in this past Monday, when I got a disturbing call that ALL of my embryos degenerated as soon as they thawed....WHAT! Confused and upset...the Dr. called me and herself said how unusual this was for some many of such good quality to not survive. So..I am stuck with the reasoning that they all were abnormal choromosones. How could this be???
I am going for a follow up with her in 2 weeks and have plenty of questions for them. Has anyone had this happen or similiar????

Confused & Disappointed,
Bridg

First I want to say I am sorry to hear about your miscarriage and your BFN regarding your FET. I don’t personally have experience w/ the embryos not making it through the thaw but I am sure several ladies on the IVF forum can identify w/ you. You would probably get more responses if you post your questions there. I wish you good luck for your consultation. Maybe, they can provide some more answers for you. I do know that when frozen embryos go through the thawing process it could mean that they will become damaged or not make it. But, again I am sorry.
