CCRM criteria for getting accepted

I am running against time and money in this IVF battle, so am looking into stepping it up, and maybe trying CCRM. I have heard many wonderful success stories out there from CCRM patients which is great, but I also know CCRM doesn't accept all patients, although they don't openly talk about this. I am trying to get an idea what it takes to be accepted there if I am older, without having to do the 1 day $5000 workup and risk not getting accepted. I am especially interested in hearing from older patients who were or were not accepted by CCRM. If anyone was not accepted, would you also be willing to share your story and specifics about your lab results/tests that made them say no?

There was a poster here "Lynniecat" who detailed all that a couple of years ago. She posted that she was told they do not screen patients, then she went through some expensive diagnostics (even though she had already done a complete workup at her prior clinic). I think she said it cost $5000. Only then she was told she needed to pass even more tests, including a clomid challenge test, to find out if she could proceed with her own eggs. At that point she realized they really do screen patients. There was also a time issue. So she went to another center, had one IVF cycle, got pregnant, and had a baby. I think she was around 40 years old.

It's your money and your potential baby. It should be your choice whether to proceed with your own eggs.

Yes, everything Ghost said its true. They were asking me to do more tests and I did not want to waste cycles doing a clomid challenge test when I knew I wanted to cycle regardless. I did go to Shady Grove in MD and I have a 10 month old daughter. In other words I got pregnant with Katie during the month that Dr Surrey wanted me to do a a clomid challenge test. Kind of hard to imagine that I would not have my amazing little girl if I had done that dang test.

I am currently cycling there. I have been extremely impressed with how complete they are. (if that makes sense) They have had me run tests that my other clinic NEVER did. However, I look at it as they want no stone left unturned. I had an initial phone consult with Dr. Schoolcraft and simply told him if he did not think I could be a success, then to please tell me. I do not have the time or money to waste on several chances. he looked at all my history and said that he felt he could be successful. I had an appointment to talk to him, which was supposed to cost $108. However, since I am out of state, they could not charge me. I don't think it hurts to do a phone consult with one of the doctors.
Now, I will say I spent almost $5k at my odwu, but they were very precise in everything they did.
I wish I would have gone to them from the very beginning.

I'm a patient at Shady Grove, but scheduled a second opinion with CCRM ($250 for the phone consultation with Surrey) in case Shady Grove doesn't help me given my very high FSH and very low AMH. Can those of you who have been to both (lynniecat?) explain the differences to me? Will they really need me to fly out to Colorado to re-test my FSH/estrogen/follicle count on day 3? Will they really need me to re-take my AMH?

I also read elsewhere that CCRM has cut-off numbers. Does anyone know what those numbers are for FSH and AMH?

I have great insurance that covers two rounds of IVF, so willing to go to CCRM if Shady Grove won't try IVF (with my own eggs) with me, but just wondering about their process and cut-off numbers.

I would suggest sending a PM to Lynniecat. This might cause the board to send her an email and cause her to come back and reply.

But she has not visited here in more than a year.

I was accepted. Here were my stats:

37 years old
1 cancelled IVF cycle b/c poor stimming
Highest FSH 11.4
suspected egg quality problem b/c no other issues

Diagnostic Day at CCRM:
9-11 resting follicles
AMH=0.6

My first cycle with CCRM I didn't stim well but they didn't cancel me. The nurse thought i would get maybe 2-3 eggs and we got 7 and 6 were mature.
