Hi Folks,

Just wanted to catch up with you guys and see how things are going.

I know Eve is due 17th Aug, is anyone due before this?
I am due 20th Aug, but a wee bit concerned as I have experienced 'lightening' at 33 + 2weeks, while it's a great relief and I don't have trouble breathing anymore, I'm just wondering if I'll go a bit earlier.(He is 2-3 weeks bigger)
Has anyone else had this earlier than usual?

Tell us all your news

Scorry
Hi Scorry
I'm due 22nd August but a question....what is "lightening" i haven't a clue????

Had my final scan last Friday and was told everything is fine but looks like junior is going to be a bruiser...ouch. Estimated weight was 5lb 8oz which is more than a pound over average for this time and my sister in-law told me she was told exactly the same weight for her son at 33 weeks and went on to have an 11 and a half pounder.....DH's family are all really tall but I'm only 5ft 3.....help my eyes are watering!!!!

Glad everything is ok with you
LOL
Terri
xxxx
Hi Terri,

'lightening' is when the baby drops, ie the head becomes engaged so the baby drops down from being stuck under your ribs if you know what I mean.

I think I'm having a bruiser too, lets just hope our babies come a wee bit earlier.

My sister's DH was 13lb, so she was in a blind panick when she had her 1st, she turned out to be 8lb 3oz (not too bad), but she still maintained it was like passing a fridgefreezer!!!!!!

oh the joys,
Scorry

ahhhhh thanks for that, didn't know that's what it's called. Mine is still firmly under my ribs, I seem to be permanently out of breath !!!!

I think I could cope with anything up to 8lb (she said glibly!!!!!) but anything over that and OOOOUUUUCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Someone did tell me that larger babies can mean easier deliveries because gravity takes over and they sort of help themselves out if you know what I mean..................Lets hope so.

Going to discuss with midwife on Thursday to see what their plan of action will be if it looks like I'm going to give birth to hulk junior.

Keep smiling
Terri
xxx
