GHOST - anyone : Multiple ovarian cysts : HELP

Post by mkd »

Hi! I regularly read visit this site and even cycled with the Mar/April IVF group. Unfortunately mine ended in a BFN :(
anyways, my sister is preggo naturally, and at the time of her 8wk scan, she was discovered to have multiple cysts on her left ovary. the largest is 4cm, and the cysts were not visible at the time of her first scan.
she has history of another benign cyst being surgically removed before this pregnancy.
im really worried, though her OBGYN says there is nothing to worry, and they will observe it keenly.
could someone tell me if this is normal, and there is no danger to the pregnancy?

I would go with what her Ob says.

There is a very, very rare condition in which the FSH receptor cannot distinguish FSH from hCG (very similar molecules). The hCG from the pregnancy can then stimulate the ovaries and cause many follicles to develop. This can lead to severe OHSS during spontaneous (natural) pregnancies. But like I said, that is very unusual.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
