Hi

Still having a bit of belly ache - feels a bit tender and bloated, and has done since the start - is this usual for it to go on.

Think im feeling apprehensive about my 8.5 week scan on Monday, still can't believe there's anything there other than wind and have visions of the nurse telling me its empty.

Even though I said I wouldn't, DH and I went shopping on Saturday and "accidently" ended up in the childrens clothes bit in Next and in the newborn section they had the cutest little towelling socks that were hardly any bigger than my thumb - still can't believe that we will have some little feet in them one day! (Didn't buy them though, you;ll be pleased to hear - 8 weeks is a bit early i guess!!!!!!!!)

Hope all your bumps (and their owners!) are doing well. DH is convinced my belly is bigger - it is, but not because of the baby! Too much scoffing is what it is!!!!!

LOL

Rachel
x

Dear Rachel,

I wouldn't worry unless you have some bleeding - that's what it seems to say in the books. I've had the odd stomach cramp and also had a bit of bleeding at 11 weeks, but evrything was okay.

I don't think that your stomach has a chance to recover after the IVF (if you've had failed IVF cycles before remember how long it took before your stomach went back to normal).

I've also started to get a bump like Shell (I'm 12 weeks and 3 days), but I've had a bloated stoamch since April when I started the IVF!

I've been eating for England since I got pregnant (but I'm also on steroids, and they make you hungry) - so I wouldn't worry - you'll be even fatter soon!!

It's hard to resist looking at baby clothes though isn't it?

Hope your next scan goes well - let us know!

Alison xx

Hi Rach - I still get this as well (10 wks on Sat) and if it's the same as mine (like period pain cramps, lasts for about 2 mins happens once or twice a day) then it's just the uterus stretching. although your baby will only be the size of a raspberry at 8 weeks, your uterus will be the size of a grapefruit.

Sorry about all the food analogies but it's all I can think of at the moment, so I'm with you on that one! Haven't even got the excuse of twins or steroids - it's pure greed I'm afraid.

If you get any cramps accompanied by bleeding or are worried in any way, give your m'wife a ring - better to be happy in your own mind.

love sally xx
