I have just been talking to my doctor and he has told me that my egg collection that was planned for thursday has been cancelled because my bloodwork today shows that I haven't downregulated enough (been on nasal spray) and my progestrone level is rising ..........to be honest I couldn't take it all in and found it hard to understand what was being said (It was me I tend to go into mental shut down when these things happen). He said that this bloodwork has been linked to poor egg quality and early miscarriages.

The bottom line is that my cycle has been cancelled and I will be replacing the nasal spray with an injectable form of med for the next cycle.....

Ghost or anyone - have you seen this in your clinic or has it happended to you? Can you tell me more about what you think happended. I have done loads of cycles but this is the first time that my clinic has started these tests and my doctor feels that this could be the underlying problem for my recent miscarriages.

That's why most US clinics gave up the nasal administration of GnRH agonist long ago. The absorption varies too much.

The agonists keep the pituitary in check so you cannot have a premature LH surge. It seems you may have had insufficient absorption of the agonist, allowing an LH surge from your pituitary before your follicles were ready. If true, then you are ovulating now or soon. The eggs from immature follicles will usually also be immature.

Ghost - thank you very much for your reply. I now understand what happened. I felt something was wrong this morning....like I was starting to get a period feelinh......
