Jo's scan

Post by Jo Locker »

Hi girls, just reporting in. Had our first scan today and saw one little heartbeat flickering away!! Everything's fine they say so we're over the moon - have another scan booked for 2 weeks time, so I guess I'll just carry on worrying for the next two weeks, which I know is perfectly normal!!

One bit I didnt know is that you have to keep taking the pessaries up til 12 weeks!!! Had to go to the doc for an emergency supply as had the last one last night. A small price to pay I suppose.

I think I have finally started to come to terms with the fact that I'M PREGNANT - YYYIIIPPPEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Lots of Love - Jo.XXXX
Hi Jo

Isn't it amazing to see the little heartbeat beating away, I think it brings it home to you that you are pregnant because you think it is all a dream at first.

I'm so happy for you, its great!!! let us know how it goes with y our next scan.

I know what you mean about them pessaries they are not so good but at the end of the day its best to use them. I stopped using mine because I had bleeding so they told me to discontinue.

I am relieved now cus I have got past my 12 week mark but saying that Jo it still doesn't stop me worrying.

I have another scan booked for Monday because I had some spotting and they just want to check all is ok, cus I have had aches and pains in belly too.

Take Care
Love
Shell.
14wks pg.
xx

Congratulations Jo - fantastic news!!

I was told a fantastic statistic in the early days which I have to share with you!! Once you see the heartbeat on a scan, you have a 95% chance of your pregnancy progressing to full term! Don't know about you but I think those chances are great - considering what you hear about the miscarriage rates at the beginning. At last, a stat that works in our favour!!

Have to say though, it doesn't stop any of the worrying!! :)

Take care of yourself and enjoy your congratulations! Welcome to the club!!

LOL Helen xx
23 wks & 3 days

Thanks so much girls - it was truly wonderful but I managed not to cry Jo, just about. It was so fascinating!!

Shell - I know the spotting must be a worry, but if you think about Helen's fantastic statistic (that's the one I'm going to hold on to from now!!) you'll be fine. Also, I read all the time that lots of women have light bleeding and/or spotting - its just a variation. Try to relax - scan by scan is the way we all creep along now isnt it?!!

Ursula, I must admit that I feel actually very positive and will try to keep my PMA levels almost as high as my progesterone levels with all these bloomin pessaries!!!

Have brilliant weekends everyone. Jo

Just got back from France - what fab news - so great to see it isn;t it? I was a nervous wreck before hand and then just as bad at the 12 week. My ulcerative colitis is back with a vengeance so frequent trips to the loo and the pain..... Off to see the gastro specialist on Thursday and I fear it will be steroids - not sure what they do for baby or even if it is disturbed at all by my colon being inflamed. Think and hope it takes what food it needs and leaves me to scrap over the rest.
Fab news - breathe easier now - did they give you an EDD?
Lots of Love
Tracey
xxx
