birth control before ivf

I started birth control on 8/4. I started bleeding on 8/15 and have not stopped since then (11 days). My nurse told me the certain pill i am taking is sensitive and if i dont take it at exactly the same time everyday, i will start my period. i missed one dose but took it 5 hours later then i normally do. Has anyone had this similiar situation happen to them? I have my first follicular ultrasound in 2 days and im sure i will still be bleeding. The nurse told me that was fine, but im nervous this is somehow going to effect the ivf cycle.
