Hello Everyone

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and both of our babies are doing really well - the doctor was very pleased with them both.

They were both moving around like crazy and I'm suprised I can't feel anything yet!! When did everyone else feel twin movement?

He scanned for about 1/2 hour to get all his information and it was totally amazing to see them both for that amount of time.

I was desperately straining my eyes to try and see their faces to see what they look like but couldn't really make out a great deal - all the limbs and everything were crystal clear though. We saw one baby open it's mouth and take a massive gulp of fluid, that was very funny and sweet.

They measured 19+4 and 20+1 (I was 19+2 yesterday) so they're both on track.

My consultant advised me that I won't be working past 32 weeks as I'll be too big and uncomfortable by then (hmmmm something to look forward to then!). The babies are both position head down, side by side at the moment which is good. He said there would be no reason why I wouldn't go to 40 weeks with 2 8lb babies. But of course there is a high chance of them coming earlier but nothing is certain (if that makes sense).

We both came away from the scan very excited and elated. We can't wait for the next one. The plan is scan at 24 weeks, 28 weeks then every 2 weeks until the end. It's so nice that we're seen as a 'special case' and they'll be keeping a close eye on us.

Ooooh 20 weeks, I can hardly believe it. It seems like yesterday since we have FET and started the 2WW - I'm amazed at how time flies. The first 12 weeks seemed to take forever but now looking back, it has flown.

I hope you're all ok and your big (and little) bumps are developing well.

Haven't been posting much lately, sorry about that, but I'm so knackered all the time any spare moment is spent sleeping and resting so I don't log on too often. I'm sure you all feel the same way and understand.

Take care of you all and your babies.

Love Sarah x
Hi Sarah ..... what a lovely scan you all had!! Must have been great to see the little darlings moving around. All is shaping up really well for you.

Lots of scans for twin pregnancies - lucky thing!! I wish they'd do scans in Sainsburys or something for a fiver - I'm sure they will in the not too distant future!!

Had our 8 wk scan today and all OK. Can't wait til the 12-week one now - that's just the way we are isnt it - always wishing for the next one, and the next one!!!

Carry on enjoying your pregnancy - relax as much as poss. Jo. XX
Sarah

I'm so pleased to hear that everything was OK with your 20 weeks scan. I think I was most apprehensive about that scan as it's the time they really can see if everything's looking OK! Isn't it just amazing to see them moving around. One of mine slept through most of it - the other wouldn't stop jigging about!! Did you find out what sex they are??!!

Don't worry about not feeling the move - I didn't really feel my two move until about 24 weeks - I felt the odd movement before then but I kept telling myself that could have been wind - not a baby! This last couple of weeks I've really started to feel them move. We went to see Terminator 3 at the cinema last week and they went mad!! It must have been the volume - lovely!

You're lucky to get another scan in 4 weeks - sounds like your hospital is really looking after you!! I've got my next scan on Monday which which will be one day short of 26 weeks - as you can imagine, I can't wait!

Take care of yourself and your precious cargo!

LOL Helen xx
Sarah

How absolutely wonderful - I was thinking about you in bed this morning - sorry nothing weird just knew you were coming up 20 weeks and was wondering about your scan. I often think about you and how you are as you went through all the FET stuff just 4 weeks ahead of me.How exciting - it all sounds so wonderful - I am so pleased - did you enquire as to the sex (babies that is) Not sure the consultant has been advising you on your sex life!!!?
Just wondered if you knew - can't remember if you said you were not going to ask and leave it as a suprise. My brain is all foggy right now.
The colitis has come back today again with a vengeance and I have been on steroids for 2 weeks now - should be cured by now so I am a little worried but will take it easy this weekend.
My insides feel like they have been wrestling for weeks - not at all pleasant and only hope baby is blissfully ignorant of all this going on!
Take special care and can't wait to hear about the other scans. My 20 week is booked for September 8th which seems an age but hopefully will fly by.
Love
Tracey
xxx
ttc 9 years. 38 yrs old, dh 8 hrs younger!First IVF in Aug 2002 and had ectopic.2nd IVF neg.3rd FET and negative.4th FET and positive but sadly lost our little boy at 20 weeks.5th FET and Alice Isobel and Emily Charlotte born 5th Aug 2004!
Me again

Didn't ask about the sex - I was desperate to ask but Chris doesn't want to know at all so I held back. I know it's better to have a suprise and I will love that moment of finding out but it doesn't stop me going mad wondering in the mean time.

Right Helen - Terminator it is then, see if mine get moving hehehe - only joking, they are very active, just can't feel it yet. Roll on the day.

Sorry to hear your Colitis has flared up again Tracey, you must be having a pretty rough time of it at the moment. I hope it clears up soon - I'm sure if baby was at all at risk they'd have been keeping a close eye so I wouldn't worrry.

Glad to hear your 8 weeker was ok Jo, roll on the next few weeks aye - I remember the waiting only too well. Good luck.

Take care all

Love Sarah x
Hi Sarah

I just want to say how happy I am for you that the scan went well and you got to see your little ones on the screen. Is this the scan when they check for abnormalities?

I think your really being looked after my your hospital and that is a good thing. I know what you mean about time flying but dragging in the 1st 12 weeks.

I can't believe it that times seems to be going so quick.

Keep us posted.

Love
Shell
xx
Great news Sarah - glad your twins look to be doing well. It's such a relief to get through the major 20 wk scan with flying colours isn't it?!!

I first felt mine moving at 16 weeks so I'm sure it won't be long before you notice yours. At 29+2 weeks, my babies' movements are now getting quite uncomfortable and sometimes even painful as I guess they're running out of space in there!

Anyway, congratulations again & take care,

Luv Rachel X
