8-week scan

Post by Jo Locker »

I'm a big old worrypot I know - been beside myself thinking all had gone wrong but thank God, everything was fine. Everything growing as it should. Weirdly, sickness is back now - old Mother Nature never lets you forget who's in control does she?

Had 3 lovely pictures printed. Clinic now handing me over to the hospital. Looked around the plush surroundings for one last time as we came out through the doors - hugged the nurses and the embryologists who have been just lovely. How do you say thankyou for something like this?? Didnt know what to say, felt a bit tearful like a complete moron really - suppose they're used to it.

Sorry for driving you all nuts. Won't do it again, promise. (til next time).

Thanks. XXXXXXXX Jo.XXXXXXXXX

Jo

you are so funny - glad everything ok - I am exactly the same - said all the things you did and still doing the same. Colitis is awful this morning - losing blood again - it really is a worry. The steroids should be working - they have clearly "improved" things but then not sure they could have got much worse! Still worry about the baby as not even heard a heartbeat with a doppler yet - and am waiting until week on monday. Then start thinking about the 20 week - you will think about the 12 - we really are head cases aren't we.
I agree with you re saying "thankyou" - it does not really cover it does it. It all seems so strange to be leaving them and going to normal GP land!
WEll done - you deserve it - exciting isn't it
Love
Tracey
xxxx

Aw Tracey I wish there was something they could do to take this bloomin bottom problem away for you, it must be absolutely dreadful. How cruel that you get a flare-up when you should be able to be pain-free and just concentrate on your baby and how its growing.

You haven't HEARD a heartbeat, but you've seen it so don't worry. I'm sure your bottom-burping is not hurting the baby - it's in a totally different place. The rotten thing is that it must be spoiling your enjoyment of the pregnancy.

Hope those steroids kick in and ease it for you. Have a good weekend.

Going to Wales for 2 weeks on 16th August - one more week at work but so much to try and get finished I could run away - you know what its like, it takes you 3 days to get over work when you arrive on your holiday!! We're going to tell my in-laws though about the baby and I can't wait cos Adrian is their only child and I know they've wanted this since we got married really (11 yrs) and will be ecstatic!!

Take care of yourself - talk to you soon. Hi Jo

Really pleased you had a lovely 8 week scan - each step closer is amazing, hey?? You'll be fine for about a week and then you'll start to worry about the 12 week scan - it's just one big lovely worry after another now!! :-) I'm sure none of us would change the worry for the world though!!!!

Enjoy telling the in-laws about your little baby - what a wonderful day that's going to be!

LOL Helenxx

PS - Tracey, sorry to hear you're still suffering. As Jo says, your baby is well tucked away so try not to worry. I hope it's not too awful for you! Hxxxx

Hi Jo

Glad everything is going ok for you.

I know what you mean about the strange feeling leaving the ACU to be transferred across to normal antenatal care - we just gave them a thankyou card and wrote a nice message in it and some cadbury's roses but it didn't seem enough. I'm sure they know what a brilliant job they're doing though!

Take care,
Luv Rachel X
