PIO injections

Hi all,

I started PIO injections about 2 and half weeks ago. I'm on 1 cc of progesterone and it's prepared in sesame oil (I do not have any sesame or nut allergies that I know of). The first few nights I injected into my thigh muscle and ended up barely being able to walk, no exaggeration from soreness. So I switched to upper outer thigh / butt. A couple times after the injection I had small bruises but no soreness or knots or marks. Last week I started getting small red bumps at the injection site and they were itching like mild mosquito bites. For the last few nights after injections I have red super itchy welts the size of at least a quarter. Any thoughts on what this could be? Could I have a delayed allergic reaction? Has anyone else had this or a weird progression into welts?
I'm gonna try the doctor's office tomorrow but sometimes they just say "it's a side effect" and dismiss. Something about this seems strange to me...

It sounds like an allergic reaction. You should tell your RE. I had a post allergic reaction after I had stopped my injections. I was also on sesame seed oil with no allergy to nuts. I had large welts all over my butt, I had to start steroids to clear it up. It took a couple of weeks for it to go away. Itching was torture. My following cycle I was switched to progesterone in cotton seed oil. I did develop a hematoma @ one point also while I was on cotton seed oil. I'm not sure if that was an allergic reaction but then they put me on suppositories anyway. I had a major bleed so I was taken off the suppositories then put back on the cotton seed and didn't have any problem with the rest of the cycle. Good luck hope you feel better.
