Wishing4bump - I am so sorry that you received a BFN. It is so hard to hear news like that once you have built up your hopes and dreams so much. But, hopefully, you will have another opportunity to achieve a BFP soon. It is perfectly normal to wonder” what if” after receiving news like that and I think it is good because you need to know (if possible) what went wrong so some changes can be made for your next cycle. For me, I think I would want a beta drawn too to ease my mind that it was really negative but I know every RE is different. Of course if that is really bothering you, you can ask tomorrow if they will order one anyway. I would definitely voice my concerns about the vaginal suppositories and oral medications versus intramuscular injections too during your next consultation before another cycle. For my RE, it depends on whether I am having a fresh or frozen transfer whether he prescribes vaginal versus IM. If it is fresh, he prescribes vaginal Progesterone and if frozen he prescribes oral estrogen and IM progesterone injections.

I think that you have come to a good place for some support here on this web site and hopefully, we can help you through this tough time. Just remember, sometimes it takes a few transfers to get the right recipe so you can get your BFP.

hi wishing, i'm also so sorry for your BFN. it really hurts every time it happens... it sounds like you have a lot of questions and i encourage you to become a strong advocate for yourself... these clinics are there to provide a service and part of that is helping us when we don't 'get' something... don't feel bad about asking questions or asking for beta's even if they don't think you need one...

in my experience sometimes the clinic staff treat us like sheep, other times they are very compassionate. let them know how you're doing so they can help you more..

i've never done IM shots for progesterone. my clinic thinks it's not necessary, and i've had 3 pregnancy's now using suppositories.. although only 1 child. my losses were regular m/c & chemical.. apparently not related to progesterone levels.

many clinics still stick to shots for some reason.. big hugs to you and throughout this journey i have found perseverance within me i never thought possible.. i can hear it in you too. i played with my son today, so sad that i didn't have a sibling in my belly for him, but yet so grateful and full of love to have him in my life. he makes all the pain i went through to get here a 'blip' in time now. :)
38 yrs. DOR, TTC since '04, recommended DE but didn't listen
3 IVF's & 1 FET: 1 cancellation, 1 m/c @ 12 wks, 1 chemical, 1 miracle boy & miracle 'natural' PG right now while waiting to cycle (WTF?)

Wishing- I totally know how you feel. I didn't think we were ever going to end up pregnant! You can look at my sig, but we went through 6 cycles before finally having our little boy. It seems hard but keep trying. Once you have your baby all the heartache will be worth it!

My doc always had me on the shots, but the last couple of cycles my body was not obsorbing it for some reason and I had to get on the suppositories and two shots a day! I think both ways are supposed to be efficient, just depends on your doc. As long as your progesterone levels were above 15-20 it should not have been a problem. I know my levels dropped down to a 9 or something and that's when he increased my progesterone.
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!
