HELP Period Pains during 2WW !!!!???!!!!!

Hi - I was wondering if anyone has any advise, this is my 2nd cycle and I certainly did not feel any period pains my first cycle but this time round they are very frequent more so at night!!! They started 5days after egg transfer and I am paranoid that I will AF any minute.

Also experiencing very weird negative dreams about IVF.

This process is so scary. I am currently on day 5 of my 2nd transfer and the waiting period is killing me. I was told that you may have cramps like your period becuase your eggs are implanting and sometimes it causes pain. I think the negative dreams could be due to this being your second try. This is also my second time and I am so negative about it because it is so scary. I didn't expect that the first time it would not work so now the fear is knowing that it didn't work and that it might not again. Try to think positive thoughts and don't let you mind wonder to the worst. It is hard to live life while going through this. Stay strong. We can make it together. When is your pregnancy test date? Mine will be on December 1st. I wish I could stay in bed till then, but life must continue.

Thanks for your response, and your very right I should keep positive but as you said I am so scared of it failing again, just makes me realise how badly I want this as do you.

My test date is 29th Nov so week tomorrow and really am so nervous, sending you lots of luck hon really hope it goes well and we both get the results we want xxx

wishing you both luck--Tiger and Nichole. Indeed this process is quite the challenge with ups and downs. Stay strong...try to stay positive. The 2ww is most certainly nerve wracking! My beta is scheduled right after you two ladies: December 2nd.

All the symptoms are so difficult to give meaning to because some folks have no symptoms and get BFP and others have plenty of symptoms and get BFP. The best thing is to try to relax and distract yourselves the best you can...and use this board for support!

I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers next week. Till proven otherwise, we are all pregnant. That is more than I have ever been so I am going to soak it up. It is hard sometimes to think positive like that and most of the time it is hard to talk like that. It makes me feel like a fake when I say it. But we all are pregnant. And this Thanksgiving, lets be thankful for that miracle. This is more of a pep talk to myself, just addressed to you guys. I never thought this would be my life. I'm trying to be thankful for it and find 'joy in the journey', but at times it is just so hard. Thanks for letting me just talk this out. Hold on for a few more days. Happy Thaksgiving!

Hi girls, I know this sounds awful but it is so reassuring to hear that you are also feeling negative during your second cycle. I am currently going through my second cycle and am finding it so much harder than the first cycle. I dont feel remotely excited about it this time and am kind of waiting for it to fail I had my egg retreival on Tuesday and had a really rough time so am dreading that i might have to do it again. I am having the embryo transfer on Sunday and am not looking forward to the 2WW- it is easily the worst part! DH and I are both trying to think positive but it seems pointless. Urrgghh. Sarah: I think we crossed paths once before..I am sorry..it is so difficult to keep everyone's stories straight. I am sorry that it is so difficult indeed. The 2nd cycle especially since the first one you are so excited and positive. Try to keep up the PMA though. It can only help!

Do any of you ladies POAS? I am a bit of an addict, I must confess. It helps to keep me occupied during the dreaded 2ww. Some people find it increases their stress, but for me it helps to be doing something and prepares me if it starts to look like a BFN. It makes the blow a lot easier if I have gotten negatives on the HPT (and if I am "wrong" since false negatives do happen--then I would be pleasantly surprised). That's my theory anyway.

This cycle feels different from the last. More cramps and pulls. Not sure if that is good or not, but I am going to try to cling to the--it must be a good sign!

I have tested my trigger out..so even though I am only 7dpo...and too early to get a BFP....I will be testing soon! I know--I'm a nut!

I'm so sorry to hear that the 2nd cycle is so difficult but i do understand as you've been through the heart ache before! But chin up and keep positive sending lots of luck to all of you guys and anyone else that is on the 2ww.

I have a confession to make I caved in and did a home pregnancy test yesterday evening and this morning, I used Clear Blue Digital, and both times came up 'pregnant' 1-2 weeks. The only problem is I have read that you can have a false positive which has in turn just deflated me once again!!!!

Have any of you guys known of anyone that has tested a false positive? I officially test with clinic on the 29th Nov.

Tiger: That could be really wonderful....false positives are usually when people test too early and are getting positive results from the trigger shot--what day are you post transfer!? If your beta is Monday, I'd be pretty sure that your trigger is out! I bet you have a BFP, girl!!!

Look at this other person's (Sonya from IVF board) HPT results...



Test again tomorrow and let us know!!

How many did you transfer? Was it a 3d or 5d?

I test on December 2nd.

Tiger that is amazing news. I have heard that is rare to get a false 'positive' reading but very common that people will test 'negative' and then have a positive end result. So from the sounds of it you might be pregnant!! Yayyyyy.. keep us updated on your news.

I will be testing on the 9th December but I will most definitley do a home test before hand ... last time i resisted the temptation and i honestly think it did more harm than good. There is very little in the IVF process that is within our control and if this is the one little thing we can have then so be it. So stuff the docs- i will be home testing for sure!!

I am not looking forward to the 2WW at all- i have my sisters wedding smack bang in the middle of it so am just hoping that if it fails then it is not on her wedding day. I am a bridesmaid and it will be very hard to keep a smile on my face knowing that it has not worked again.... Anyway fingers crossed it wont come to that!

Hi Margi - I'm keeping everything crossed for you as your not far off from me!!! good luck and sending you lots of luck.

I went to our local Boots Store and ransacked the shelves I bought Clear Blue and First Response and came back last night and tested both the CB & FR, Clear Blue came up as Pregnany again and First Response I had an EXTREMELY Faint line. I tested this morning again (obsessed I know) with the FR and the FAINT line was marginally darker this morning. I will test every morning now (i Know im crazy) till Monday morning. My Parents are driving up tonight to stay with my husband and so hopefully will take my mind of things although havent told them about it this time as if it was/is a negative I would have to reexplain everything to them which in turn just brings it all back.

I had a 3dt and had 2 embryos transferred. Have you done a pregnancy test yet? I couldnt access Sonyas story would you be able to try and send through again as positive stories always give hope they are always inspiring.

Sarah - Try and enjoy yourself as much as you can at your sisters wedding, my sis married this year in August when I had my first cycle and I know it is easier send then done. Read my response above to margi about the tests. Your right doing the HPT are maybe the only control we have over this whole process. I cant wait to test each morning and I think if it was a negative I would have wanted to be prepared also. Although early stages yet and we all still have the first month, second month and third month get through. Keep positive and again I know how hard that can be !! I think you and I had the same symptons period pains and cramping so could be a postive, my test was done the 9th day after ET, but dont be discourage if it isnt positive I have done 3 different pregnancy test and had 3 very different results, on test showed not pregnant, another showed an extremely faint line and another showed up as pregnant straight away. Please keep us posted xxx and I will update you with the test that I now take every morning xxxxxxxxx

Hi Girls.. so i am officially now in the 2WW!!! I had the ET yesterday and all went well with the transfer of a healthy 5day blastocyst. With any luck we may also have 1 to feeze but will find out today. I asked them to put them both in but they talked me out of it which was a little frustrating- here in Australia they are anti putting more than 1 embryo back because they dont like to risk a twin pregnancy. I would love a twin pregnancy but i have very low blood pressure which is another reason to try and avoid one. I felt very different afterwards compared to the first transfer- i was far less emotional and much stronger in spirit. I have been having regular acupuncture which has helped with my nerves and anxiety about the whole thing. My husband was a nervous wreck and i thought he was going to cry when the embryologist came in to talk to us. Now all we can do is wait...

How are you both tracking? Any updates after the weekend?

Tiger: How are you doing?! Did further POAS yield more positive results? Darker lines? I am so excited for your beta tomorrow...Sonya got positives on her POASing adventures that got darker slowly, but there were two women that had negative up until the day before beta and then got BFP....I am thinking all looks great for you!

So glad to hear that your spirit is strong. Very sweet about DH. It is hard at times to remember how difficult this journey is on them as well.


AFM: I am totally So far, no BFP, but I am staying hopeful...I have a few more days before my beta. But as you ladies put it, I would rather know, or have a strong feeling based on my testing on what to expect when I go for my beta. If I get BFNs on HPTs and then a BFN beta: I was prepared. If for some reason I was getting false negatives and get a positive Beta, I will be pleasantly surprised. False positives are rare--unless you test too early and your trigger is still in your system.

Hey guys. Its exciting to hear about all your positive tests. Can't wait to see the final beta results! I am due for my beta on Dec 1st. I feel like life has been in a holding pattern for so long that I am looking forward to Wednesday. I have so many emotions it is scary I am terrified then excited, all within moments. I have not taken a pregnancy test early because I am terrified. I did last time and it broke my heart. I promised my husband I would not do it again. It was hard on the both of us. Only one more full day of work and one more night of shots before we find out. I only have one more needle left so that is an exciting point. I am praying peace and patience for you all. This is such a difficult time. Can't wait to hear all your exciting news! Have a wonderful night.
