Aygestin confusion Please Help!

Post by Meinemo »

Anyone taking Aygestin (Estradiol) for an embryo transfer? I need help--my nurse is gone for the next three days for the holiday.

I've been taking one tablet for the past two weeks (along with 10mg Lupron shots). My period should start in the next few days and then I'm back to taking it again until the transfer.

My instructions from the nurse don't say how many to take, however, I just realized that my bottle says to take two, three times a day! YIKES! (Like I said, I've only been taking one.)

Am I completely screwed now for this cycle? I've been waiting for this cycle for over two months. I'm going to scream! ahhhhhhh!

There is definitely some confusion. Aygestin is NOT estradiol. It does not have the same action, either. It's a progestin, like progesterone, but a more potent synthetic form. My clinic sometimes uses Aygestin to bring on a period in some patients. I don't recall any patient ever using it during their IVF cycle.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
