Posting but scared

Post by bertie »

I am 9 wk and 6 days pg. We go for another scan 2mrw, then we should be discharged to doctors. I havent posted before now cos I'm still a bit scared. When we first found out I ran out and bought all the magazines, books etc but now I feel odd. All I keep thinking is that after 6 yrs of bad luck we now have something so precious that I'm scared someone will take it away.
Sorry to be so negative but I've tried to talk to dh but he thinks I'm being silly. My sister had a baby on Thursday and I keep looking and thinking how lucky she is.
I also keep questioning my 'belly' feelings. Sometimes I panic cos I have niggly pains, then when I dont have them I panic again.
Why do I feel like this? Is this normal?
Sorry
Bertie x

TOTALLY AND UTTERLY NORMAL BERTIE!!!!

I finally gave birth on Saturday and all the way through the pregnancy I worried and thought about the worst things that could happen.

And belive me it doesn't go away when they're born.....I'm afraid to leave him in another room!

Try and hang on to all the positive things about your pregnancy and enjoy it as much as you can, and remember that it's all far more likely to go right for you than not.

Take care,
Suzann.x

Hi Bertie

Congratulations on your postive! As Suzanne says, the what you are feeling is completely normal. I know I didn't start to enjoy my pregnancy untila bout 12 weeks and even now (I'm 33 weeks) a few days before I have an appointment with the midwife or consultant I panic that something will go wrong!

I'm not surprised to hear from Suzanne to hear that it doesn't get any better once you give birth!! :-) From set of worries swapped for another!

Try and relax and enjoy as much as you can. You deserve it!

helen xx

Bertie it's no wonder that we all feel that little bit more worried and fragile than someone who got pg easily is it? Not a day goes by when I don't worry that I'll never make it to the end of this with everythign OK - its understandable. But a lot of the time too I feel really positive and it is certainly better when you pass that 12 wk mark.

Like everyone else I get weird pains, sometimes quite sharp, all the time and I think it's just everything changing in there and stretching AND of cousre we all become super-atuned to our bodies don't we.

Come on - you'll be fine - listen to your DH. Make time to just lie there and relax and think about your baby and the future you're all going to have and don't be afraid.

Lots of Love - Jo. XX
