I do pop over and now and then to see how everyone is.

Anyway this is now my 3rd IVF and 1 week and 1 day left until d-day, my clinic says it hasnt worked before because of the quality of our embryos......here goes

(garde 4 is top grade)
1st ICSI, transfered 1 x grade 3, 1 x grade 2 all 4 cell 2day tx
2nd ICSI, transfered 1 x grade 3, 2 x grade 2 all 8 cell 3day tx
3rd ICSI, transfered 2 x grade 3, 1 x grade 2 all 4 cell 2d tx

They have now made me think that it wont work as we still havent produced any top grade eggs.............so my question is, has anyone managed to get pg with embies that were not top grade.......
I would be so grateful for any feedback.

Love Natsxx
Hi Nats

I am PG on my 3rd ICSI attempt and none of my embies were top grade. They never have been. The ones we had put back this time were both 4 cell, one grade 3 the other grade 2-3, 2 day fertilization. If this cycle had been un-successful we would have looked into waiting for blasto's or assisted hatching.
We have never had any frozen either so like you worried that they were never fantastic quality embies to choose from. I think at the end of the day it's all down to timing.

It's not easy being on the 2ww but be positive. My fingers are crossed for you and your DH and look forward to seeing you over this side soon!

Where do you have your treatment?

Take care and drink lots Love Dagny x (5weeks 6 days PG)

[Edited by Dagny on 21-Oct-03 07:14]

Hello Nats

I promise you, you can still get pg with 'crappy' embies! On both my cycles I've never had a top grade (ours are graded with 1 being top). I've always had grades 2, 3 or 4. This time was even worse, we only managed to get 4 fertilised - 2 x grade 2.5 & 2 x grade 3. I was so disappointed and convinced it wouldn't work I told my consultant just to get on with it and stick whichever he wanted in for a laugh! (I promise you, these were my exact words!!)

I'm now 8 weeks pg with TWINS, which means both my 'crappy embies' worked. So please believe me, if they want to hang around they will no matter what grade they are given!!!

Fingers crossed for your test date. Remember to keep drinking lots of water!! I'll be checking to see how you do.

love nikola.xxx
Thnak you all so much, I feel a bit more positive today after reading your messages. Its funny how you become this obsessed mad woman during the 2WW......had all sorts of things going through my head and of course after 2 failed cycles that were similar you start to think "why would it work".

Congratulations to both of you on your pg, I pray that I get to post you a good result soon.

Dagny- I am at Essex Fertility Centre, they have been good and am happy with them but it just felt when they said that about the embies not being top grade that it was a waste of time going on. Of course still obsessing like mad and am now half way through the 2WW and looking for every minute twinge which isnt happening.

Will keep it posted.

Love Natsxx
