Horrible week

Post by Adey »

Hi All,
Haven't been on here for ages as my life has been so busy over the last few months but i have been checking in sometimes to see how you've all been.
I've been feeling really down this week - moving house next Monday which has been a drama from beginning to end! Went to work on Wednesday and slipped on a wet floor and went flying into a wall and landed on my bump on the hard floor. As you can imagine i was really frightened and went straight to A&E. They were great and took me up to Maternity where i had to stay till 11 pm that night being monitored etc. Thank God baby is fine but i am covered in bruises! Everyone's reaction at work, family, friends etc was of great concern but i felt as if they were blaming me. Everyone has been telling me to slow down, take it easy blah blah and it just made me really pissed off. I know more than anyone how hard it was to make this baby and i'm not going to deliberatly but myself or the baby at risk for anything. Sorry!
The next day i went to the midwife who told me i have high levels of
protein in my urine and i've got a midwife coming to the house to check it again tomorrow. Has anyone else had this? I know it could be pre eclampsia but i haven't got any other symptoms. I'm 31 weeks and have been sick all the way through the pregnancy. I know i shouldn't be moaning because i have been blessed with this baby but i just wish it wasn't such a worry all the time! Sorry to come back to the site and be such a moaning minnie but i'm feeling abit sorry for myself!
Love Adey xxxxx

Hi Adey,

It's no wonder that you're feeling sorry for yourself. You must have been really frightened by your fall, what a relief though that you and bubs are fine.

During one of my appointments with the midwife (quite late on, can't remember now though how many weeks I was), she found protein in my water. I also had very swollen legs and feet and my blood pressure was high. She made an appointment for me at the hospital for a week later, and when I went everything was back to normal (except for the big fat feet and ankles!). The doctor told me that there are all sorts of reasons while pregnant for having protein in your water....something to do with having more germs/bacteria(?) when pregnant (sorry to be vague, but I had a head like a sieve when I was pregnant, and it's got no better!). Anyway what I'm saying is try not to worry as I had other signs of pre-eclampsia and everything was ok, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Chin up girlie.

Suzanne.x

p.s so know what you mean about worrying all the way through!

Hi Adey,

I wondered where you had got to because I haven't seen you about for ages. I am so sorry to hear that you had a fall but one good thing the baby is ok. I know exactly how you feel about worrying and I don't think it gets any easier, we worry through the tmt then while we are in the 2ww and then if it works etc.... and I am sure once the little ones are born we will continue to worry some more.

Adey I am sorry to hear that you have been having sickness all the way through your pregnancy. I had it for a while and I couldn't wait for it to go so I dread to think how you must be feeling. I do occasionally get it now and again but its not as bad as when I first had it.

I can't believe that you are 31wks already, mind I can't remember the last time we spoke.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Love
Shell.
29wks 3d pg
xx
