What’s the risk of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)?

Post by vikely »

In vitro fertilization is a medical technique in which a woman's egg is placed with her husband's sperm in a laboratory environment to promote fertilization. The result is a so called test-tube baby.
The risks associated with in vitro fertilization include the possibility of multiple pregnancy (since several embryos may be implanted) and ectopic pregnancy (an embryo that implants in the fallopian tube or in the abdominal cavity outside the uterus). There is a slight risk of ovarian rupture, bleeding, infections, and complications of anesthesia. If the procedure is successful and pregnancy. 8) 8)

Yes, those are indeed some of the risks. Everything in life has a risk. And with risk comes reward. Can't think of a better reward than my beautiful baby...who by the way, I never call "test-tube"...just baby.
Me: 35 no known issues, DH 35 low morphology (2%) and low motility, bilateral vericocelectomy

IUI with clomid #1-#3: all BFN
IVF#1: BFN
IVF #2: M/C at 8 weeks
FET #1: BFP! DD 2 yrs old!

Trying for #2 soon and anxious again...didn't think I would be.

Cute pic! What exactly is this person thinking coming to a place where people either have "miracle babies-test tube babies" or are desperatly trying to have one? My test tube baby is wonderful and I wouldn't trade him for the world!
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!

Vikely Whats your point? Some of us are not so lucky that we can conceive at the click of a finger. If your point is to teach us about ivf, most of the women here have a more comprehensive, detailed and personal understanding of ivf, its risks and more important... its rewards... than "some" shallow minded, judgemental and selfish people...

I am looking forward to having a "test tube" baby myself and am sooo excited.

SDtrying#2 Thank you so much for sharing. Your baby is sooooooooooo adorable :D :D :D I cant wait for my BFP :D

To all the women here.... love you guys :)
