Ghost or anyone: small follicles and low E2...

Hi Ghost and ladies

I am on round 3 of IVF. This time I had a Lupron injection on 31st March, then 4 days of 300 GonalF 300 from the 3rd April. My AF only stopped on the last day of the GonalF. Day 5 I had an ultrasound- my follicles are only measuring about 6mm and my blood tests showed by E2 level to be 87 (it was c. 20 on day 1). On Day 5 they started me on 300 Menopur daily. Tomorrow will be day 8 and I am due another ultrasound. I am, however, nervous as my follicles seem so small and my E2 level so low. Is it possible that this cycle is just starting slowly and things will recover to normal level or does a low start mean little hope?

It sure looks like it's starting slowly. Sounds like you had a flare cycle. The results for flare protocols vary a lot. We had some who had fantastic response to them, others with very poor response, and everything in between.

You still have a chance, but this is not the best news.

You will learn how well your Menopur is working with your next scan. Good luck.

Well by some miracle they are growing Yesterday on the 9th day of stims there were 10 follicles ranging from 13- 8mm, my E2 was 431 and my lining thickening with the nice 3 lines. RE seems very pleased with slow and steady- I think particularly in view of my premature lutenisastion in the last cycle which resulted in it being cancelled. My only concern in this regard is my LH had risen to 2.6 on day 9 (it was 1.3 on day 7) but they don't seem unduly concerned (my P4 was 50.2- not sure what this means?)- would you be?? Next scan tomorrow- day 11 of stims.

LH of 9 is not a big deal, but if it keeps rising that could be a problem. They can shut it down with ganirelix.
