This was our 5th IVF cycle. We have reached makor milestones duirng this cycle.
1. Out of 14 eggs, 10 fertilized. We've always had a 20% fertilization rate.
2. We ended up making it to a 5dt. We've always had 3dt & the embryos that were transferred were of below average, specifically due to fragmentation.
So, today we had a 5dt w/ 3 compacted morulas. I know they're supposed to be at a blast stage, but the way it was explained to me was that they were at pre-blast stage & it could've been a matter of hours before they would have become blasts.
What are my chances of this being a successful cycle?
Any other input anyone may have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Ester --- Remember.... every baby was a morula at one point. I would think the only issue is, that morulas aren't as easy to grade as blasts are. I had 2 blasts and 2 morulas once on day 5. I transferred the blasts and the morulas were frozen as high quality blasts on day 6. I think your chances are excellent!

The chance of success is a little lower than with full day 5 blasts. Perhaps you can estimate your chance of success by taking the SART results for your clinic with your diagnosis (male factor) and age group, and reducing it a little to compensate for the compacted embryos.
If you cannot find such SART results, then my very rough estimate is around 35-40% or so for live birth.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Thanks Katie!!! I see you'll be starting for another little one soon...good luck & I'll be cheering you on!

Thank you, Lou! Yes, they didn't have an actual grading exactly b/c it's hard to grade them at that point. However, they said all 3 were looking good & I believe they said they were at like 80 cells each...I think that's pretty good, right?

Is your estimate (35%-40%) per morula or is this for all 3 morulae?

I was thinking the chance of a live birth with a typical transfer of about 2 embryos. A third embryo might increase it slightly, but my estimate is very rough anyway.

Ester --- don't get caught up in numbers. Heck... my clinic was showing me dismal success rates with a woman my age going to ER with 2-3 mature follies. Switching to IUI was even brought up and we considered it. Obviously, that would even have lower success rates and we were already < 10%. It's all about getting the right embie into your uterus at the right time. That means... ANY embryo can be the right one. In my case, my RIGHT embie came from a cycle where it was the ONLY embie. It had nothing to do with fertilization rates, previous cycles, number of follies/eggs, etc. It was just the right one. At my ET, I told my RE that I didn't want to hear his statisics. All I wanted to focus on is that I have a good looking 8 cell 3 day embie in my uterus which is part of the formula for pregnancy. He said he liked my outlook. So your chances are excellent that you've got a "right one" in there as well. Remember, every baby was a 3 day embie, a compacting morula, and a blastocyst at one time. I'm pulling for you sweetie. It's your time.

Oh, Lou...you just made me tear up! I have been doing pretty good w/ thinking this way. I won't lie...I have been on the Internet, looking at pictures & reading stories. But, I'm more optimistic than not. I'm scared, but we have come so far...I can't give up now & start thinking negatively. Of course, now I'm looking for different signs & indications of implantation, which I know every woman & pregnancy is different. This is so overwhelming...the not knowing is a killer...the injections, side effects of meds, the procedures I can handle (as much as they are not fun when you're in the midst of them). I have my picture of our 3 babies & I kiss them & talk to them. I love them so much already.
Moorebaby I just want to say that i totally and absolutely agree with Lou71.. If you get yourself bogged down in stats and averages you drive yourself crazy and you worry, worrry, worry, and that cant be good for your babies. I say screw the stats, focus on your babies growing inside you, thats all that matters right now. Imagine them implanting and growing, growing, growing. PMA girl
