9dp5dt HPT shows BFN... Need stories

Post by ann d. »

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did an HPT and it was a BFN. It's 9dp5dt and two perfect looking blasts were transferred. I was certain this would work as I have been feeling twinges in my uterus. (Yah, I know it could be the meds.) Does anyone have a similar story and got a BFP later or was yours definitely a BFN in the end? I'm trying to keep up the PMA but it's difficult. I know the reality is that it's probably a BFN. I won't know for sure until Monday.

Thanks for any help,
Ann

Hi there!

I just wanted to wish you luck! I am 6dpt5dt and while I am super early to test I am BFN thus far. Had a light positive that faded (my guess is HCG left my system) now waiting for the line to reappear... this is my first IVF cycle with frozen sperm. The 2ww is killing me here.

Stay hopeful! I hear many women don't get BFP's until 14 days or so later- so you could very well be BFP!

Thank you Karla for you thoughtful reply. I did not do a HPT this morning. My beta is tomorrow and I'm preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. We'll see....

Good luck during your 2WW. This is an emotional roller coaster ride and requires a lot of patience. I have found that during the 2ww trying to keep myself as busy as possible keeps my mind off of things. Of course this time was easier than others until yesterday morning. I wish you the best!!!

Ann – I just want to provide you with some words of encouragement as well. When I did my 5 day transfers and received a BFP, it did occur by 7 days post transfer but I have to say that I have seen many women on here who have tested negative with their HPT’s only to test positive with their beta results. So don’t give up just yet!

Thank you Angelaezra and Babydreamz! I appreciate your words of encouragement. I have been feeling up and down today, trying to keep my PMA. I know in the end I have been blessed with a DS and keep reminding myself WHATEVER happens, I am blessed with the people I have in my life. I'll keep you girls posted.

Thank you again. I feel better with your kind words and support.

Babydreamz.... thank you for thinking of me. This is the first chance I've had to go online. I got a BFN, but it was expected. The worst part of the day was I was suppose to get the call between 11 and 1 pm, and their machine which evaluated the tests broke down. So they had to take it to an outside lab which meant I didn't get a call until 3 hours later. Anyway, I knew it was coming. I am sad, but like I said before, I know I am blessed to have what I have. I have shed a few tears but feel okay with the outcome. I think the hardest part was I truly believed this would work. All the "side effects" that were from the meds didn't help in preparing for a BFN. That HPT on Saturday was a big reality check. We will be trying an FET in the summer. We have 6 blasts waiting for us.

Good luck to all you ladies. I wish you the best during this very trying and emotional journey.

Thank you Babydreamz.... Good luck during your pregnancy. Enjoy every moment. I remember being nervous until the 2nd trimester. I don't think women who have never struggled with fertility know what a blessing it is to be pregnant. I wish there was a magic wand for all of us to get pregnant. Sometimes it seems unfair and I have even felt somewhat guilty for wanting a second one when I know how lucky I am to have one baby. Again, I wish you the best and will be looking for your posts to "follow" you through your pregnancy.
