Hello~ I am a young mom to three great kids. I had them all by the time I was 23 (yikes) and got my tubes tied after the third. I honestly beleive that no woman should make a decision like that while she is pregnant. I remember my OBGYN having numerous talks, but I insisted. After all, I was "old" at 23 and had seen and done it all. Wow, was I wrong. I knew it was a mistake the moment I sat with my newborn daughter rocking her in my arms- I already felt the loss, but I chalked it up to hormones. I spent years regretting my decision, but went on with my life being thankful for the three I had. About 6 years ago I lost my right tube and ovary to a dermoid cyst (painful!). Last year, I found out that my insurance covered one fresh and one frozen cycle of ivf or reversal. I was on this board about 6 months ago looking for advice on ivf or tubal reversal. I was honestly leaning more towards the reversal until I went for the consultation, which scared me so bad It took my this long to come back! So, here I am- all in, ready to give this a try. DH and children (18,16,12) are all in and we are hoping that this works. I am 35 and DH is 37.
We went for our consultation today! I was so nervous and unsure, but when I left, I felt so good about everything. The RE was awesome and I am feeling pretty good about what to expect from him and this cycle. He already checked my remaining ovary and said it looked great and from what he could see on the sono, my uterus looked good too. He is going to schedule a hysterosonogram and some blood work.
One question though, we talked about how many embryos to transfer given my age, etc. DH and I discussed our fear of multiples. He said given our situation, he would be comfortable transferring one, which would give us about a 40% success rate. If we transferred two, there would be a 25% chance of having twins. DH looked like he was going to pass out

. I obviously want to make the best out of our situation. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks and Baby Dust to everyone!
