Ghost et al. Fluid in uterus prior to transfer

Post by counsel13 »

I am 4 days from transfer. My ultrasound 5 days ago showed a 1mm river - 5 inches long of fluid ending in a pool 5mm x 7mm in my uterus. I have been on lupron and most recently esterace. I started on progesterone 2 days ago. My ultrasound today showed the same. I have another ultrasound scheduled for Thursday. The dr. said that if the fluid doesn't significantly subside he will recommend canceling the FET on Friday. What causes this fluid, can I do anything to make it go away, and what would be the risk of doing the transfer anyway?

I don't know the cause. I know we see this from time to time. It usually goes away before transfer. If not, it's better to cancel. I think the risk is that the cycle would be more likely to fail.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

My wife had to cancel her transfer today because of too much water. I just registered on the forum to find out more information about this.

Does anybody out there know what causes this or the medical term for it so I can research it more?

We rescheduled the procedure for Monday (2 days from now). The doctor said if the water has reduced enough they would go through with the transfer, otherwise we would need to freeze our embryos and try in a month.

Thanks for any help!
