Could someone please help? I am 12dp 3dt of 4 embryos. I started spotting brown. Then it turned red. Now it seems a little more than spotting but its not as bad as AF by a long shot. I'm scared to death. Beta is monday. Is there hope? What can I or should I do??

An addendum...my clinic doesn't have a nurse there on the weekends and my beta is first thing monday morning. How do I know if this is emergent. Maybe if I have to ask that question it isn't. I'm so confused tired and frustrated.

This is somewhat common, regardless of cycle success. It's always worrisome for the patient, but try to stay calm.

Contact your clinic as soon as you get a chance, and tell them everything, as always. If you feel you have an emergency, you are free to handle it that way.

Are you taking progesterone? Estradiol?

Progesterone should prevent AF, if you are getting enough. Estradiol reduces spotting and the resulting patient stress, although it has little or no benefit to IVF outcome.

Did I read this right? Estradiol has little or no effect on IVF outcome? Is that true for FETs? I am taking so much Estrace and I assumed that was the only way my lining would thicken since I am on Lupron.

Thanks for asking. I was referring to luteal support in fresh non-donor IVF (where there are follicles making estradiol and progesterone), not about FET or donor cycles (where there are no follicles). I suspect most FET protocols would need estradiol supplements in the luteal phase, and it is certainly needed to build a lining in an artificial follicular phase suppressed with Lupron.

Ghost- thanks so much for answering me. I had no idea about the pio. I'm on 1cc per night. I called the on call dr and she called back, said it doesn't sound like AF and to lay around all day. The bleeding is worse but nowhere near AF, at least not like mine is after a tubal ligation 11 years ago. Other than the pio I'm only on zatean and they recently had me start low dose aspirin in the morning. The two generic pregnancy tests I took today and yesterday however, read negative. I don't trust them and should not have done them. I don't think the urine was technically first morning urine and the sensitivity of the tests is not on the box, but I paid one dollar for them. How good could they be lol...I'm laying in bed with my feet up. No idea what else to do but pray.

Also, I'm not sure how to differentiate exactly on spotting and full flow, I only ever have FULL flow. The dr said something about AF schedule is now dependant on when the embies were put in, not when I normally would have started so she said I would be wayyyy early now. Does that make sense?

Not exactly.

In a natural cycle, an embryo that implants in the uterine wall will release hCG into the bloodstream, and that hCG will stimulate the follicle to continue producing progesterone. That is how the implanted embryo can regulate menses.

In your case, you are taking progesterone by injection. You should therefore have adequate progesterone levels regardless of embryo implantation, as long as you continue the injections.
