New thread as last one taking too long to open now that I am back without broadband!!!

Posted on the other thread re my EPU results - what a relief!!! could have hugged the doctor!! not out of the woods yet but feel so much better today.

Lisa, Annette and phil - best of luck tomorrow!! keeping fingers crossed that you will all see yolk etc!!

dagny - best of luck for your 12 week scan tomorrow. will be thinking of you.

Dolly - my advice - get yourself down to your local EPU - they should be able to see the sac at least, if nothing else at this stage and make sure it is in the right place. my sac measured 14 mm today (6 weeks 2 days) so am sure they will be able to pick yours up.

re timetable - I had been counting 2 weeks back from EC but the doctor today at the EPU said you count 2 weeks back from ET which makes me only 6 weeks and 2 days instead of 6 weeks and 5 days
:( !!

beckym xxxx
Hi Becky

I left a post on your other thread but just to say again I am so relieved for you and DH. Keep smiling and be strong. I will be waiting for the updates.

Take care everybody

Love Dagny xx

Hi everyone

thanks for the good wishes about tomorrow. Bad news going back from e/t those 2 days make such a difference!! I am quite nervous about tomorrow just dreading that something will be wrong, but know there is nothing I can do about it.

We are going away tomorrow to a christmas ball, so will be driving about 7 hours. Hope everything will be okay I have been told to take regular stops and stretch my legs, I will have to make regular toilet stops anyway!!

Phil and Annette good luck aswell, let us know how you get on.

As I am away I won't be able to post so will let you know when I get back on Saturday, unless its bad news and we don't go.
Becky have also posted on the other thread, but fab news.

Bring on the yolk!!!

Love Lisa xx
hi,

becky, i posted a message on other thread. great, great , great news!

dolly, i did write an earlier message but pc failed so it didn't send.
i agree with you the clinic should be more sensitive in situations like yours, and we know from experience that they can do somethings that will help ease the worry. think about going to an epu if the worry is too much. maybe your gp can help too. i know that the 11th is only one week away but it can seem an eternity too.

hope everyone is doing well.

annette, lisa, dagny, thinking about you today.

phil x
Hi Phil, thanks for all your reassurance - I really appreciate it. Did you have twinges in the first couple of weeks - I have started to get a few niggles and I am trying to stop my mind working overtime. They are not pains just the odd twinge. I am hoping I can hold out until my scan next week - but if the twinges develop into full blown pains I will be down the EPU like a shot!

Hope you're all well

Dolly

Hi Dolly

You will experience the odd tweaks and twinges and af type pains as your uterus is stretching and moving to accommodate the foetus. I got myself in a state when I got them and was told it's normal to feel these things. Your body is working overtime and thats why you get so tired.

I hope this helps and that your next scan is here before you know it.

Love Dagny x

dolly,
i still have pains, they were a lot worse though. in fact the pains were the reason i went for an early scan. i was convinced it was because of an ectopic. anyway the great piece of info i got was that early pains are not likely to be caused by an ectopic ( i was 5 wks)but more probably due to pressure from the ovary. he was absolutely right. we could see on the scan that my ovary was working overtime.
also, the uterus is starting to adapt so you'll feel unusual pains too.

i hope they ease for you soon, i know they are a big worry. take care.

phil x
Hi Girls

Just checking in, how are you all feeling? Anyone had any sickness?

I have my scan tomorrow and if counting from EC I will be 6wks 6days so hoping for a heartbeat.

Love Vicki X
Vicki, good luck with your scan tomorrow. How have you been feeling? I have been feeling a little sick but mainly around 4.30 in the morning when I get up for the 100th time to go to the loo!!

Becky, I read your other post - poor you - hope you're feeling better now.

Hi to the rest of the gang.

Dolly

Hi

I have had to take today off work, couldn't even sit up straight on the loo this morning, been up since 5.00am with pains down my right hand side. The nurse's only concern was that they were growing in the wrong place, but last weeks scan confirmed that they were where they should be.She didn't seem to be concerned, am I becoming a nerotic mess already??? She just said that I might have pulled something or that it could be wind. Having irritable bowel I know how painful wind can be, but this was a pain in my pelvic bone and not like normal wind at all.

Anybody else had similar pain?

Vicki - good luck tomorrow, see my message to Beckym under Phil scan thread. My heartbeats were like 2 flickering stars, its great.

Dolly - have you been sick or just feeling? when is your first scan?

Hi Beckym - hope you are okay, sorry to have a bit of a moan, seems nothing after what you have been going through.

Take care all, Hi Phil and Annette

Love Lisa xxx
Hi guys

Am at home today taking it easy, sleeping reading and eating!!!

Dolly, am getting same very early morning sickness at around 3am - have to get up and eat ginger nuts/salt&vinegar crisps and today it lasted till around 2pm!! Just quite nauseous though, no chucking up (yet).

have cancelled my repeat scan today at the ARGC as couldn't see the point of doing it again and not really fit to travel up to London at the moment anyway. To tell you the truth i am now a bit scared to go back there and have my 8 week scan next week cos of what happened last time - just feel bad vibes cos I think the doctor who scanned me could have done something (like make me sit on a pillow or drink water or something to make the sac clearer as this is what they did at the other place). Instead it was 5 minutes on the table, "oh, can't see anything, come back next week", which I think in the circumstances was pretty insensitive. would much prefer to go somewhere else. on the other hand I trust Taranissi with the drug regime (heparin etc) he has got me on so it would be difficult to just swap to my local hospital where they are not IVF specialists. what do you think? am I being utterly paranoid? would appreciate views.

Lisa - you had quite a few follies so could be enlarged ovary causing the pain. my pain extended from pelvis diagonally up to my rhs waist and felt like it shot down the right leg too sometimes. drink loads and loads of fluids. You can take paracetomol to ease the pain. alternatively you may have pulled a muscle - my doctor told me off in hospital for lying down too quickly on my back and getting up without rolling onto my side first. she said a lot of pregnant women have muscle pains even in the first trimester cos they try to lie down and get up in the wrong manner.

vicki - very best of luck for your scan tomorrow.

dolly - apart from the ovary pains have also had odd twinges which am sure is the uterus stretching.

phil, annette, dagny, hope you are all well. beckym xxx
Hi Girls

Had my scan this morning it was amazing this little baby with a heartbeat flickering way. I can't believe what I saw, I just felt so blessed. I have my second scan on the 23rd Dec and I will be just under nines weeks, all being well I am then discharged from the IVF unit.

My sickness gets worse in the afternoon, on Sunday the smell of sweet corn made me retch, I’m not physically sick just Sylvia. I can’t believe how tired I feel come 3pm at work I nearly asleep.

Lisa c – Try not to worry about the pains I also have IBS and have had Sharpe pains in my right groin area and I putting my pain down to wind, pregnancy effects the bowl and slows it down hence constipation, prune juice works for me. Hope you are feeling better today.

Becky – I would go back to the ARGC and explain you have had two further scans and seen the babies heartbeat, also explaining that due to the last scan you had with them you paid and had a scan at the EPU whom were much informative and explained about your ovaries, which you wished could have been the case with them. I’m glad you are back home, how is your DH?

Dolly - Good luck with your scan.

Phil Annette & Dagny hope you are all well.

Love Vicki B XX

[Edited by vickib on 09-Dec-03 04:06]
Dear Vicki

Wonderful news. Seeing your babies heart beat is so incredible. I still get a buzz when I think back to when we saw ours flickering away that first time.

You can start to enjoy your pregnancy a bit more now in between feeling sick that is! Just remember to drink and try to eat little and often.

Look after yourself,

Love Dagny x

hi all, i haven't been around for a while... sickness. i can't believe it's so awful, but after catching up today i see that i am not the only one!

vicki, great news about your scan, it is such a relief isn't it to see the heartbeats. we'll see so much more at our next one, they'll be like xmas pressies for us all.

becky, i can really understand your reluctance to go back to the argc for the next scan. if it were me then given all that we;ve been thru, i'd go where i was most confident. if that's the epu, then stick with it. it shouldn't interfere with your meds. maybe you could explain to Mr.T.
whatever you decide, you're the most important person right now in all this so do what feels best to you.

lisa, hope the pains are easing.

love to everyone. hope you're all doing well.

phil x
