Anyone have a hysteroscopy that can share what their experience was like?
After my 1st failed IVF and failed FET my Dr is going to perform a hysteroscopy with general anesthesia. I am so nervous about this procedure and was curious how people felt after surgery.
I am also afraid getting nauseas/sick afterwards like I did with my laparoscopy and myomectomy from the anesthesia.

I had a hysteroscopy several years back. I was fine. I had a little cramping and very light bleeding. I didn't go to work that day because of the anesthesia. I had polyps removed as a part of the procedure. I compare it to egg retrieval, maybe a little easier. Of course it will all depend on how your body responds.
Good luck. You won't be under for very long. Ask them for something for nausea. My dr gives me iv benedryl which works well for me.

I am actually having one 12/16. If mine is before yours I can let you know how it goes. I get very sick from the anesthesia, I am going to ask for zofran through iv, the kind you put under your tongue is just not strong enough for me or does not work fast enough. I got very sick after both my ER. Both I was awake for and the second little meds were used, so I am very nervous b/c I am going to be totally under. I am actually more nervous about the nausea than the procedure itself! Let me know When yours is and how you make out!

I actually had one in my RE's office...so nice not to have to go under. It wasn't bad at all. Went back to work the next day. Little spotting. Wasnt awful at all!

Thank you Ladies for responding, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately for both my past surgeries I asked for some kind of anti nausea medication in my IV which they did give me but I was still sick as a dog. I don’t know if it made it worse or not.
Madam x – my hysteroscopy is actually on Dec 23 (right before the holidays). I too am actually more nervous about the nausea. That has to be the worst feeling ever after a procedure. Hopefully we both get through this smoothly. Please keep me posted on how yours went. Good luck to you
