New here and just had my first IVF cycle. I'm 41 didn't respond too well, 5 follicles, 4 eggs, 3 fertilized, 1 (8) cell, 1 (7) cell, and the 3rd not so hot, today on day 3.
I'm having some abnormal uterine bleeding so my Re only wanted to retrieve to freeze and not transfer until they figure out why I'm bleeding. Having said that, I have the option to freeze today the 2 I have or let them grow hopefully until day 5 to then freeze.
I decided to let them grow and I'm hoping I made the right choice.
By day three, embies should be 8 cells. I also had an 8 cell and 7 cell on day 3. I also waited for day 5 but I had a transfer. Good luck!! Do they have any idea about why u are bleeding?

Day 5 is today and I haven't heard back from my RE since day 3 when he asked me if I wanted to freeze then or push out two more days. My thinking was since it wasn't going to be a fresh transfer why not let them get stronger. Today is day 5 and I haven't heard back from my RE, sooo... I'm assuming they made it and will be frozen today (hopefully). I know it's risky waiting especially since I only have two but again my thinking was whats going to be will be so why not know now then when I try my FET, right?
The bleeding- ugh! It's so frustrating, no answers. And my RE wont do a transfer until they figure it out. So pissed!!!
I posted that bleeding saga on another board but no answers yet.
Here's the background on that:
I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, 4 months ago and with heavy bleeding during the d&C from what I was told was a low-lying implantation.
When my period returned after roughly 6 weeks later I experienced a very heavy gush of blood which subsided into what I would consider a normal period. The next month, I again experienced an extremely heavy gush of blood along with my period, however the bleeding was so excessive that I needed to get medical treatment (blood infusion). My doctors could not identify the problem, ruling out perimenopause, no uterine fibroids, nothing! I even had a hysteroscopy which was normal. I do have dermoid cysts on both ovaries which my docs say is not a factor in this problem. I was put on bcps for 1 month and when I came off I did have a light bleed which was normal and expected, but 1 week later again had a heavy gushing of blood, which eventually tapered off and stopped but only after several hours. The bleeding tends to be a brighter red color than my normal period and pours out uncontrollably.

I hope nobody posts that you should have frozen on day 3!
I think you made a good choice. And most clinics seem to agree. Day 3 freezing has become less common than day 5.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
