What's the biopsy for? I don't think they are risky in general.

I have heard of ladies on this forum having a biopsy of the uterine lining. It seems like a fairly low risk, but painful procedure. I have even heard the theory that it can help with implantation in the long run. Although, that theory seems controversial. I have never actually had one, and have not looked into it much since I didn't need one. Sorry I cannot give any first hand experience. :?
