Hi Ghost,
I need to know what r ur thoughts concerning this?
•Does the "stimulation protocol" affects egg quality?
•And does Women with PCOS tend to produce a greater percentage of aneuploid eggs ??
•And is Antagonist with mini ivf / mild stimulation the best way to have better quality eggs in PCO patients?? (knowing that PCO patients respond highly to the stim meds and need a little amount of FSH to produce eggs - at least in my case)
•and from ur experience, what is the best stimulation protocol used for PCO patients?
(i have only PCO not PCOS, i ovulate regularly every month with a cycle of 28 days, no hormonal problems)

Ps: no concerns about ohss, i never had it, the question is more about egg quality. (lower quantity but better quality maybe?)

That's an excellent question.

I've read several papers suggesting some protocol might be better for oocyte/embryo quality, but they have always left me unconvinced. One problem is sometimes that they measure success in the percentage of good quality embryos formed. Well, if one oocyte becomes one good quality embryo, that's 100%. If another protocol produces 4 oocytes, two of which form good embryos, then that's 50%. This example makes it sound like the second case had only half as many good quality embryos (50% instead of 100%) when in fact there were twice as many (two instead of one).

Another excellent question.

In our experience, we've seen some PCO patients produce large numbers of ideal embryos and some others produce large numbers of aneuploid embryos. I don't know why they differ so greatly. But I believe there is some reduction in oocyte quality in PCO patients, on average, when compared to non-PCO of the same age. I don't think it's a huge effect in most cases.

And is Antagonist with mini ivf / mild stimulation the best way to have better quality eggs in PCO patients?? (knowing that PCO patients respond highly to the stim meds and need a little amount of FSH to produce eggs - at least in my case)

I don't know. But you have a point that PCO patients tend to respond well with low doses of FSH, often within the definition of mild stimulation (150IU/day).
