what TIME OF DAY to do injections?

Post by leorira11 »

At my last clinic, I would go at 7am for bw/us and they would call me back around 2-3 pm with the results and what to do. I would take my injections when I got home from work at 6pm. The last fresh cycle, when I was told to trigger, I was told to take my last dose of stims/ganirelix and then stim later than night. I said "okay, I'll take the stim/ganirelix when I get home from work at 6pm and then the trigger at 8pm". The nurse said "no! You are supposed to be taking the injections at 2-3pm when we call". I had no idea.

Now I'm with a new clinic. I did my baseline yesterday and was told to start my stims today. I go back for another us/bw on Sunday. What time of day should I take my injections? Does it really matter, so long as I'm consistent? How consistent do I have to be (within an hour range? 2-hour range?)?

I thought only the trigger had to be timed - but if the trigger has to be timed, and the other injections that day have to be timed - doesn't it matter what time I take the injections every day?

Today, I brought my stuff to work with me, so I can 'shoot up' in the bathroom around 2pm. I'll do that all week. But on Sunday, I won't know until 2pm WHAT and HOW MUCH I'm supposed to inject. Should I bring all my stuff with me, in case I need to add Ganirelix, or more Menopur?

I should call my doctor, but I feel like I've bothered him so much recently....

thanks!

hello,
my clinic told me to take the FSH injections between 6 and 8 pm and repeat i everyday at the same time.
the trigger depends on the clinic schedule for the ER, but mostly it was at 9 pm

good luck!

Our last trigger was 2AM, approximately 32 hours before retrieval.

Shots were taken daily around 9:30PM.

Hey Leora! So glad your cycle is under way! I took my stims at 9pm. My clinic said pick a time in the evening and stick with it. And I wouldn't feel bad about "bugging" your doc-that's his job!!!!! Tons of baby dust to you!

My clinic told me that the hormonal injections are very important to do in a strict time every day the same time, also the pills should be taken the same way, so I am planning to set the alarm for my medication)) :D
