Sorry in advance as I am new and still learning the abbreviations
Brief Overview:
I'm 28 and DH is 32. We did a fresh cycle with assisted ICSI. Had 5 good eggs, but with PGS, found out had 3 abnormals (Turner Syndrome, Down Syndrome, and Kleinfelter Syndrome), so only two were normal to put back in. We did a 5 day egg transfer with 3 days of bedrest. After a week, did blood work and got the devastated call that I had a BFN on my beta test.
I feel so heartbroken. I know the procedure was not 100% guaranteed but the IVF doctor said we had good % bc we were young. Trying to get through each day while keeping myself busy or else I will break down and cry. Trying to let time pass before even thinking about ivf again. Any advice on how to get through this? Is it worth going through the process again?
So sorry that your first cycle was not the one that brings a baby into your arms. I've been lucky on my ivf journey and just wanted to offer encouragement. So many families are created with ivf and the success rates are better every year with advancing technology. So you ask, is there hope? REs are usually pretty candid about your chances at success. If yours says your chances are great there is no reason to think otherwise, sounds to me that your first cycle was a fluke.
Me/DH 36
1 tube/low morph
TTC since 2008 only one spontaneous in 2012
Ivf 1-1/2009 DS
FET- miscarried
Ivf 2.- 10/11 DS
12/12 miscarried (spontaneous pregnant, so cliche minus the miscarriage part)
Now--- back to TTC at home in hopes for a final addition
so sorry to hear about your struggles. time does help. If you are still willing to try, I'd like to let you know that there is a premium, cost effective way to handle your IVF issues. I know of a group of doctors in Costa Rica that are working on the most innovative techniques and ethical use of stem cell therapies for IVF for thousands of dollars less than in the U.S. The medical group is World accredited, english speaking, and educated in some of the most prestigious schools in the nation! The best part is that you can have your treatments in the calming environment of a tropical paradise. Airfare, accomodations and the treatment is all covered under a flat rate that is STILL cheaper than just having the treatment in a U.S. based facility. An escort (ie: partner, parent, or friend) is covered too! You will receive 5 star hotel service from the staff from beginning to end. Your doctor is also included on any treatment options so you can return knowing you are taken care of every step of the way. Financing available as well as working with your insurance to ensure the best coverage possible. I thought this would be helpful information for anyone who may want/need it. Let me know if you are interested in knowing more and we can converse personally or exchange emails.

I wanted to clarify regarding IVF through a medical group in Costa Rica. The organization is based out of Costa Rica and although we are on the cusp of getting approval in that location, our therapies are being offered in Panama at a Johns Hopkins run facility. I am new to this forum and havent really learned to navigate it too well. If anybody desires to learn more please contact me at agarcia@wisemds.com.
Regards and good luck!
