New to IVF/ICSI

Post by MsJess »

I am so glad to have found you all. I have a million questions and have been reading through all the threads.

This is our first month getting started fully and I am nervous, hesitant, optimistic and trying to stay realistic.

Thanks for all of those who have come before me and asked questions :)

I wish anybody new to this journey much luck and success. I too have great information on cost efficient and successful IVF treatments. In the interest of sensitivity and tact, I invite interested parties to contact me at agarcia@wisemds.com if you want to know more. Information is the key to making great decisions about such an emotionally charged topic, and I just would like to share what I have come to know both professionally and personally.

check out the 2013 cycle buddies thread - that's a great place to hang out and share what you are dealing with right now.

I'm not cycling right now (waiting for surgery on Wednesday, then probably a 6 week wait until I can start again) - but I'm quite an expert (unfortunately....) if anyone has questions!

Hi there!!
I'm so happy to be amoungst friends. I get so frustrated that I can't talk to anyone about it properly other than my poor hubby! So I'm 7dp5dt today and chomping at the bit to test but absolutely refuse until 10 dpt! This is our 2nd cycle, first failed after 1 et from fresh cycle, ICSI male factor. I'm working away trying to distract myself but your mind always drifts back. This cycle we were able to put back 2 hatching blasts, not feeling the positivity, it's hard after you've had one failed one already. So just wanted to say Hi, offer my knowledge where possible and hopefully share happy and sad news as we go through this together. Talk soon ! :)

New to IVF/ICSI

Post by WendyT »

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to. This is our first round of IVF and I am on day 8 past a 3day transfer of 1 embryo. No embryos made it to being frozen so all hopes pinned on this one.

I have been having bad cramps from the day 2 of transfer, so quite worried.

Welcome Wendy! I remember being so nervous, too, on my IVF try. Insurance doesn't pay anything except meds so that just added on the pressure! Lots of great advice here! Remember, everyone is different. I didn't have any cramping, nausea, etc. my only indicator that something good might be happening is when I FELL getting out of my vehicle. That takes talent! LOL.

Señorita - putting back 2 hatchlings is great! Keep thinking positive thoughts.

Leorira - I have been stalking the board for quite a while. Always was shy to join. I am continuing to send prayers and positive thoughts your way. I admire your strength so much.

AFM - we will be trying with our one and only frozen baby soon. Not real soon but its on our minds. It is our one chance for Grace to have sibling. God has a plan. Took us 7 years with getting our first.

Thanks Ginger. You're right, that's one hell of a way to find out!

Trying to be patient. I've read so many posts on this site about cramping, that I guess it can really can just go either way!

I am new to IVF, and it seems like there is so much information, but not any good information.oping to find others doing IVF who may know more... I have 5 children, all conceived without any aid. I am a gestational carrier for someone that i know. I am 11 days post 5 day transfer of 2 blastocyst that rated perfect. The Dr. Ordered an HCG, progesterone and Estradiol on 02/19/13, 7 days after transfer and my levels were: HCG 19, Progesterone 21.47, Estradiol 1300 Two days later my levels were: HCG 29, Estradiol 1167, Progesterone 36.49, Today 11 days post transfer my HCG was 49 Wont get other levels until monday. IVF Dr. says my numbers are good, not to worry, slow and steady is ok . Theni see numbers online & i freak out :(

My IVF Dr. Said some cramping daily is "Normal", as is spotting. He said to remember, they invaded my uterus to put the embryo's in.... I had cramping today, but the Dr.checked me and said it wasn't my uterus, it was my left ovary hurting from how full it is with eggs, and is a side effect of the meds., I have had NO spotting except on day 5, it was very faint and only once, Dr said it was "implant" spotting.

I am so new to IVF that I haven't gotten a schedle that some have mentioned. At this point, all I know is that I have to call my RE office on the first day of my next cycle, which should be tomorrow, to have an ultrasound done on day 2, 3, or 4 to count follicles. I'm sure they will tell me more at that appointment, but I am nail biting nervous  and scared :( , and happy :D all at the same time. My husband and I have tried to have a baby for 6 years. I'm also getting my self worked up about the chance of success. I have a BMI of 35, and from what I have read on the internet, higher BMI's prove to be lesser chance of success with IVF. Can anyone give advice about what I can expect next? I know that this month they plan to do a Chlomid challenge where they plan to put me on a high dose of Chlomid on days 5-9 and then if I am not pregnant by my next cycle, I believe that's when I start the IVF meds?? I don't know. Any help?
