Frozen or Fresh Embryo Transfer?

Anyone have opinions on frozen or fresh embryo transfer, which is better? I appreciate any comments. Thanks in advance!

At they clinic the statistics are strongly in favor of fresh. I imagine that changes from clinic to clinic. I've also heard of a few cases where some docs recommended frozen for some women based on history of failures with fresh. Having said that frozen is so much easier and costs less so even if the success rate or lower those things alone might even the playing field.

Also with the new freezing process the difference in success between frozen and fresh is narrowing at my clinic.

the books that I read shows that fresh cycles has a higher chances of successful pregnancies. However, if you search online, recent studies (like December of 2012 new), shows that frozen would have a better chances. I had both, and both were BFP. I do think it depends highly on the clinic you go to, the method they thaw the frozen embryos, etc. Perhaps your clinic would be the best people to advise you on this

the problem with comparing fresh and frozen statistics is that most people DO transfer in a fresh cycle, and the embryos they transfer are the best of the batch. That means, if they freeze embryos, the embryos are only as good and usually not as good as the embryos transferred in the fresh cycle. That doesn't mean that those embryos don't have a good chance of being a baby, but rather that the stats get skewed. If, for example, you freeze all, and then transfer the best embryos with FET instead of fresh, does that affect your odds? That's harder to answer, since most people don't do that. For an individual embryo, is it better to be transferred fresh or frozen? I don't think anyone knows the answer to that. FETs are much much much easier, but usually you are transferring your "Team B" embryos instead of the best ones from the fresh cycle.

Does that make sense?
