New Site Layout

Post by marcus »

We have just finished updating the site, including the message board. Registered users can let me know what they think by voting in the poll! Pages throughout our site are also able to detail user comments if there are specific things that people aren't sure about.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year.

Best wishes,

Dr Samuel Marcus FRCS FRCOG
Medical Director Of IVF-Infertility.com

Hi Marcus,

Well to be honest I was quite shocked when I saw the new layout it completely threw me. I am going to have a browse round the site and I will put my vote forward. I am sure that the changes can only be for the best.

Thanks for the site, without this alot of us wouldn't know which way to turn.

Happy New Year.

Thought I had gone onto the wrong site at first. However, I am hoping that it looks more daunting than it actually is!! I have managed to post so that is a good sign and like the Emoticons.

Will vote in a couple of days after I get used to it a bit.

Thanks Lisa

Hi Marcus
I thought the old layout was easy to understand. Once I get used to the new layout it'll be ok.
I agree with the others about the smilies - they are cool!!! I couldnt get the hang of these on the old site. :?

Hi Marcus,
I agree with the girls in the sense that it takes some getting used to! From a userability point of view (sorry, also married to a web designer!) :) the 'jump to, select a forum' needs to be at the top of the page, not the bottom...It does look daunting at first, I think because it looks much more 'formal'.
Despite that though, this site is a gift in itself, and as long as we can use it, it's great whatever, so thanks for the upkeep!

Hi,
Like all the others have taken a bit to get used to the new layout - really like it, esp the emoticons! The only down side is I can't see the previous postings for the subject I'm replying to which means if its a long one I can't remember who's said what!!!
Happy New Year,
Couldn't have coed without this site!

Sorry Marcus but negative from me Im afraid.
Have been away from boards this week with flu & have just logged in to catch up & now have a headache!!

A lot of girls on here have recommended fertility friends or something before which is similiar to this new layout,

I could never get on with Fertility Friends cos although all the pictures etc are fun I usually post from work & time is of the essence, what I liked about the old layout was it was straight forward and quick! IVF is such a stress and I am really going to miss the old layout, dont mean to be a party pooper but I really dont think I will have the patience for new layout, hence why I never posted on Fertility Friends.....
Guess I will have to try & cope with things by myself when I start next tmt.
Good luck to everyone & thanks for your support.
If I ever get the time to suss this out I will but at the mo dont think I will...
Gonna go & have a sulk now as will really miss the old site.
Take care all
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

It does take some time getting used to the new layout but once your used to it, its great. Please don't give up yet give it time, it would be a shame to go through your next tmt on your own when so many people want to support you.

Love

Hi Sarah

I hope you are feeling better now and your flu has cleared off. I had the same feeling as you when I first logged on to find this new format and for a few day's I hated it! :x Then after a while it got better and now I love it :D It took me a while to work out the emoticons (not as long as Nikola I may add! Sorry Nik  ) and I didn't like the fact that you didn't know which were new posts like the old format had orange logos but then I realised that they do you just have to look a bit harder. I didn't bother with Fertility Friends because this one was much easier and idiot proof. I hope you get to like it more as time goes.

When are you starting your treatment? I seem to remember you have to wait a bit for the builders at the clinic to finish. Go over there and give them a big kick up the ar$e and tell them to get a move on! It must be so frustrating :x

You were the first person who replied to me when I registered last year and you were so encouraging so I have everything crossed for you now.

Good luck Sarah and I will be watching for a well deserved big fat positive you hear! :D

Love Dagny x
