I'm back and starting again!

Post by Helen S »

Hi All

To those that know me and thoses that don't!

Hope you have all had a good Christmas and New Year.

We start injecting tomorrow for our 4th fresh cycle at ICSI. We have had 3 failed tmts and 1 failed FET at the LGI in Leeds and we have now changed to Care in Sheffield. Completely different drugs and completely different atmosphere, so hoping that will do the trick for us.

EC date is possibly week commencing 26 January '03, so we will wait and see how we go.

Love to all who know me, Fi, Grace and everyone else and my pg buddies, Fiona LK, Nik and TS. Love you all lots. Do you know what an emotional wreck you are going to have to cope with over the next few months!!!

Helen.

Hi Dawn

Nice to meet you -so to speak!

I had a fab time at Chriatmas and New Year! We went to Northumberland for Chriatmas, just me, DH and 11 month old chocolate Labrador called Bliss! Did you have a good time?

Now don't worry about EC, I am sure you will be fine, I am the most squeamish person in the whole world and I have managed to do it 3 times! If you are having sedation, you won't really be with it and you will just float on whilst it all goes on in the background, you won't feel anything and may well just go to sleep. Try to just relax (says she - if my buddies read this, they will be crying with laughter now!) and go with the flow.

I have previously sniffed to downreg, but Care in Sheffield like you to inject - oh no, more needles!

Hope that your fluey thing gets a bit better soon - nightmare whilst you are sniffing!

Cuddle up warm with DH and chill.

Speak to you soon.

Love
Helen.

Hi Helen,

We have not spoke before, I am sorry to hear of the failed attempts you've had before, but lets hope this is a positive. If you need to ask any questions fire away we are all rooting for you.
Good Luck.

Hi Helen

good luck with your treatment. Just wanted to say that changing clinics worked for me. I had failed ivf and changed to a different set up, which to be fair wasn't as pleasant or personable, but had different ideas, like no sniffing just injecting, and I am now pg with twins.

Keep us informed and fingers crossed this will be a great 2004 for you.

Hi Helen
Thanx for your reply!
I remember reading some of your posts when you first got Bliss. She sounds adorable! Is she crazy?! I work in a vets and we have several choc labs that are all gorgeous but a bit mad!!
Well I ventured out for the first time this year but am still feeling a bit rough. Luckily my nose isn't running so sniffing is ok although i do find I sneeze about 5 mins after I've done it! I'm starting to panic about Weds now and the 1st jab. As for you being a emotional wreck I'm sure I'll be just as bad!! Did you go back to work for the 2ww? I've only been at my new job for 6 mths and don't get paid for time off so I've saved some holiday but will only be able to have a week off. I only work 5hrs a day so do you think I'll be ok to go back?
You'll get used to my daft questions!!

Dearest Helen

I thought you would be back on here by now!! Don't forget I'll be watching everything your write - I love your words of wisdom on relaxation....if only everyone knew the truth!!!

Hells bells - what the chuff is going on with this site - I go away for a few weeks and come back and I thought I was on the wretched Fertility Friends website!! You know IT is not my strongest point!! I do hope I manage to get the hang of the basics - sod all these 'quotes', 'tags' and 'emoticons' - I'd only just got the hang of pressing reply and submit!

Dawn - hello to you too. Good luck with your tmt. I found taking the drugs out of the fridge a couple of hours before I used them took away the sting and also if you are feeling particularly sensitive rub an ice-cube on your leg before you inject. My dh insisted after covering me in bruises it was a case of no pain, no gain (easy for him to say!) but to be fair it worked for us - we are now pg with twins!

Good luck to you all doing your tmt at the moment. I hope to welcome you to other side (if I can bloody well find my way back over there!) very soon.

lots of love

Hi Nikola
Congratulations on your twins!! When are they due?
Thanks for the advice re injecting, I'm not letting dh any where near me with a needle (after 7 years of me nagging him I think he may get his revenge!!) The nurses at work have all offered to assist!! Why is it that friends can't wait for the chance to jab you with a needle!?
I logged on to Fertility Friends once but found it such a nightmare I gave up!! Am loving the new site as I could never get the smileys to work on the old one.   !

Will try a couple of smileys to make Nik jealous - she is so useless with systems - oops must be nice need her help!

You are all so mean to me! I don't understand how they work. Whenever I click on one this is what happens:

:?

Durr! I give up. Anyway it took me about a month to learn how to switch my bloody email on, it will take me a least another 6 months to work my way around this new site - it does look very pretty though Marcus!

Tracey Sharp you get up far too early for a lady of leisure - 8am!! Why??? Maybe you and I should share First Financial - you could do the morning (I'm rubbish until lunchtime!) and I'll do the afternoon shift (I've warmed up by then!)

Dawn, my dh was so into giving the injections he has offered to go round and give Helen S hers too. So if you want I can always send him round to you too! He likes to think he is on ER - bless.

Love to you all

OOOOOOOOOOO Nik no wonder you were so tired yesterday - hadn't realised you were on the emoticons - well done!

Ian is up early at the moment - year end so that buggers me up and like to get Gabbie out for an early walk after her brekkie at 8.30 - also the internet is cheaper for me before 8 as not on all day at the moment for cheaper rate - must sort that.
Would be happy to do FF in shifts - morning is fine for me - I have had it by the afternoon - what a team!
Love to all

Hi everyone

Thanks so muhc for all your replies. Nik and TS - what are you doing taking over my thread, you pumpkins!! YOu know I love you both loads!

Now Dawn - you are quite right Bliss is mad - Nik will vouch for that - but she is sooooooooooo cute gorgeous and cuddly. But such a handful! We have the decoraters in at the mo, just about doing the whole house and Phil the decorator is going to buy Bliss her own overalls and a paintbrush so that she can join in even more! I quite expect a cream dog when I get in!

What fun it must be to work at a vets - does it involve you picking any of the animals up, cos if it does just make sure that you don't overdo it or else me, TS and Nik will be on to you especially during the 2ww. I think it is a good idea to have a bit of time off. I generally do, but I wouldn't worry about going back if you have to, you just need to take some care and be sensible. I guess I am lucky in that I run my own business so can suit myself, but soemtimes that's harder as you have clients to keep happy!

How did the injecting go? Hope that you did ok, sure you did. Any more questions, just ask away, lets' face after 3 goes I should know a bit about it all - hee hee.

Got in the swing of things with these emoticons now, don't you just love them!

Must go - got to develop a working from home policy for a client - happy days!

Speak soon, lots of love
Helen.
