I saw my midwife today and she measured the heart rate as 160 BPM. This should indicate a girl (they say anything over 140 bpm is a girl), but the midwife said that it was a load of rubbish!!

We shall wait and see - I only have 2 weeks and 2 days to go before my EDD!!! All wil be revealed when it pops out!

Hi
It is an old wives tale...my babys heart rate varied from 138 through to 148, mainly around 140. I had a little boy, although everyone said i would have a girl because of the heart rate!!

My boy/girl twins had very similar heart rates so unfortunately it just goes to prove that it is just an old wives' tale.

hi wibbs

I went to see my midwife this morning and we listened to the heartbeats of our twins - very exciting. One was noticeably slower than the other. One at 136 and the other at 140! How exciting. I was going to find out the sex on Monday (our next scan) but I've decided I don't care so I don't want to know and its more fun guessing! I think I'm having one of each - not because of the heartbeats just motherly intuition!

How are you doing? Have you listened to your babies heartbeat recently? When is your next scan?

I'm glad you and Val have been keeping each other company whilst I've been gone. I'll feel dreadfully left out if you both get together with your babies, may need to bring my two out to Florida too! OMG, not sure I could cope with twin 2 on an aeroplane - he is seriously out of control already - the thought of him running around on a plane........!!

My midwife said she thinks I've got one quiet one and the other is going to be a handful! He is always moving around - today she said it was more accurate to say he was thrashing around!! This will be fun having him kick me for the next few weeks!!!

Hope you are ok (and you too Val!)
